    Default The UKIP surge

We are under a week away from the local English elections and UKIP are fielding upwards of two-thousand candidates. It is predicted they could take as many as 600 seats away from the Conservative Party.

They have been more or less the 3rd Party in UK politics for some time.

Nigel Farage has recently been touring England and at some venues he has had to speak twice due to the demand, with thousands of people coming to hear him speak.

UKIP could well make a breakthrough and go on to win the European Election of 2014 and cause mayhem not only in the UK but within the EU if they refuse to consent to the parliament.

Is it really any different than the one the BNP used in 2010?

MSM hacks asking us to finger ex-BNP people now Ukip candidates. Whatever our disagreements, we're certainly not grassing anyone to the controlled media. 2 reasons: First, it's a matter of principle. Second, we intend to make the Law of Unintended Consequences apply to the BBC scheme to promote Ukip to block us. Their boosting Ukip puts new people on an intellectual conveyor belt to nationalist radicalisation. The process of ideological entryism is already underway & thanks to web cannot be stopped. When Ukip bubble bursts, we'll still be here and ready to pick up the pieces! -Nick Griffin MEP.

The UKIP got 26% in the election last week!

I'm a huge UKIP supporter and Nigel Farage is one of my heroes. I for one am glad UKIP is surging in popularity.

EU needs a good shock to wake up and pick something better than austerity (something that, at least, works). I say, go ahead UKIP.

The EU doesn't control how governments spend their money. If you have issues with austerity where ever you are from, it's your national government's fault.

They have not been "more or less the third party" for any length of time. They've yet to win a single seat in Parliament despite several opportunities at by-elections since May 2010. It's true that they're gaining in strength and people may have to begin to take them seriously, but calling them the third party is naive and overly optimistic.

"For what it’s worth: it’s never too late to be whoever you want to be. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again."

According to the opinion polls UKIP have been in 3rd place for some time.
If we had an election they could score a few million votes and thats just a conservative estimate.
Nigel Farage has god-like status at the moment, I'd dare to say his appeal to the average person is far greater than that of Nick Clegg around 2010.

The sad thing of course is that UKIP have jumped on the BNP's success, they have stolen our platform.

Until the general election actually happens we will have no idea how many votes UKIP will get - lots of people tend to say they will switch their vote, but then when the time comes they just go with tactical voting anyway. I imagine they will do well in the local elections and screw over David Cameron (hopefully the Tories will then get a conservative leader) and they have a good chance of winning the Euros, but they could get millions of votes in the general election and still not win a single seat.

So they are against the EU telling the UK what to do and want to lessen the powers the EU has.Nothing wrong with that.
I see Cameron is robbing their ideas himself so he does not lose votes.Bit ****ing late for that David you snake.

The EU isn't like a single country that "tells the UK what do" it's like a collection of countries that collectively agree on stuff to do.

    Who has told you that?

The European Commission is an unelected body and the only body within the EU that can propose legislation and is forced upon the UK by the Federalist Parliament, in which the UK has around 75 seats.

I don't what a bloody German making my law, British law should be made by the British People for the British People.

It is called self-determination, a UN Right which is being ignored by the British Government in their refusal to allow us to have our say.

No it's made up of several elected bodies the UK represents one of them and the agree on legislation together as a group collective. It's not like some kind of mass empire of evil foreigners forcing their laws on the poor old UK.

The only member of the commission who is British isn't an elected offical and we can't remove her by the ballot box.

This flys in the face everything the people of this country have fought for over the years.

And don't for one moment think this is only a right-wing posistion, Tony Benn has said this for years.

We offer them a deal before the last election it was turned down.

We won't stand candidates against members of the UKIP who are to our leanings.

As Andrew Brons has defected and given the state of BNP finances I would say that the BNP isn't in a position to field many candidates.

As Britain won World War 2 , we have managed to enjoy being fascist free. Almost BNP free given the pasting they had in 2010.

Well if they win, we'll see if they're actually serious or if they're just another mainstream party which lures voters with populist slogans and does nothing about it.

There is a EU parliament with British representives and they vote upon the new laws suggested and we can vote for our representatives in the European parliament. So there isn't anything undemocratic about it.
