Default The Campaign Map thus far... updated edition

Seeing as how the old thread is buried somewhere way back from over a month ago, I thought I'd start a new one for the updated map for the Pontus faction reveal.

With this latest reveal, we are really able to get an understanding of how the regions and provinces will be laid out for most of the campaign map. Thus far, from all the reveals, there have been approximately 140 confirmed regions shown, out of the now known total of 183 which was revealed at the San Francisco event. The only remaining areas of the map we have not seen are the steppes, Mesopotamia, the shore along the Persian Gulf, and the southern part of Arabia/Ethiopia. Just doing a quick estimate of how many regions I think these areas will contain, based upon patterns seen thus far, and the importance of these areas (ie. I don't think the steppes or southern Arabia with contain many regions), I am coming up with about 35-36. That leaves 7 or 8 more regions.

    Anyways, here's my updated map:

Excellent work as always. However, if I may give constructive criticism, Egypt's color is a little too similar to the campaign map itself. It's hardly visible.

Yea, I kind of noticed that. I think I will change that and update the OP accordingly.

Great work, man. Pontus fills in a lot of empty space in Anatolia.

If the map looks like that it will be pretty sweet, especially with all of the Arabian peninsula. Can't wait to have a naval presence there playing as Egypt.

I was very happy to see that during the Egypt reveal, as I was definitely not expecting it. It will surely make playing Egypt more interesting.

Totally agree Kinjo... The Arabian Peninsula is something that i have only sailed in select mods (Not even fully navigable in Empire!! wtf!!)... Also... the Caspian.. to have full access to the Caspian would be wonderful, especially as I will start my 1st campaign as Pontus, gaining Black Sea access and eventual Caspian Sea (Something in Empire which also disappointed me was no navy access in the Caspian sea... WTF if i want to quickly send Ottomans from Persia to my Russian front I had to march them through the hills of the Caucus mountains... pitiful... The south/eastern part of this map looks the most interesting to me, I dont have to stop my Pontic empire at Baghdad.

Great job man, really helps to put the whole thing into perspective.
I also use maps like this to constantly fantasize about my future conquests

Now this IS a nice distribution of playable factions. The east looked extremely empty until now!

Indeed. None of the playable factions have borders in common.
The map is looking good (and I believe that this map will be in the game. This isn't just an "artistic representation"). My main critic is the fact that Carthage doesn’t own any province in the Iberian Peninsula. And, if I'm not wrong, Egypt should control some regions in Anatolia.

They may have toned down the province owning of some factions in purpose. I'm thinking that they could have done that with multiplayer campaign balance in mind.

While Carthage and Egypt may not own those regions directly on the campaign map, they could still kind of be in control of them, if at the start of the campaign those regions are controlled by minor factions which are vassals of Carthage or Egypt.

... Good point . CA did something similar before. In ETW, some factions have colonies as vassals to balance the game in the first few turns.

Those 2 regions above Rome, weren't they already under Roman influence at the time?

    Great job btw.

Those two provinces will likely be under the Etruscan League, as mentioned on the wiki. The last Etruscan cities weren't occupied by Rome until 264BC, and the start of the campaign is likely 270BC.
