Can I play my friend?

Hi, just wondering if I could play my friend if I have the RTW on disc, all up to date. My friend has it on steam, will I be able to play him?

You should be able to.

The installs have to be the same with the exception of the preferences.txt file (i.e. no mods at all). It may also be best to delete all the map.rwm files you can both find (if the file is not there at the start of a campaign or when you load a save game the map.rwm file is created from other txt files in the 'data' folder).

How are you going to play MP?

You should be able to play your friend. Steam and disk users can play each other online, either through the inbuilt option of gamespy or by using gameranger.

If you are planning to play it through Lan I cannot be sure, but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to play him.
