    Default Realistic Supply Lines Question?

I remember a couple years ago there was a mod that punished the player if they sent an army too far away from conquered territory. If they were more than 5 turns out of faction territory they got increasingly worse punishments and traits.... I remember there were rations involved and the morale of the troops dropped dramatically to the point where you couldn't fight in the middle of harad without returning troops to controlled territory. Does anyone recall this mod and can you provide the name? Supply lines have determined wars since the beginning of time yet a game based on war does not take them into account one bit. An army can march for 25 years in enemy territory and be ok.

I believe DaVinci's "TATW Realism" is the one you're thinking of. Link to the mod page: (Here)

I can't recall any such TA mod but this sounds like Bygs Grim Reality II in Stainless Steel (Bygs best piece of work in my opinion and by now standard SS content) but I don't know if it has ever been implemented in Third Age. It relies on traits mainly and not too much scripting so it would not be unthinkable to find a TA version of the mod. Perhaps a search for some of the key terms in it will yield something.

PcP does have a system like this that requires to monitor your armies supply levels. Unfortunately, as I could never get it work on on the battlemap properly, I haven't played much PcP so I don't know anything about the details of this system. Worth your time to look though

I pulled it from PCP, works fine. I am trying to pull more from BYGs to make it so large armies without generals rebel more often and maybe see if I can get the foraging system working as well. Thanks for the help

If you pull it off, consider releasing it as a submod. I like the idea of having to keep armies supplied, but PCP is the only submod that offers it. The rest of that sounds pretty interesting too.

You need to search for BYG 2.5, that is Bygs grim reality submod for SS. All you have to do is move over the export desc character traits labeled "supply system", it is labeled in this version and easy to cut out... and move over the text information that applies also. The text stuff for the supplies is all in the same area at the bottom of the text file. The system I took from 2.5 is more robust than the one in PCP. It allows you to forage for a certain # of turns, then uses up your armies resources, you can also be resupplied by generals I believe. I have changed my game so that captains revolt if they lead too large an army, so generals are necessary. I won't release a submod because it isn't mine to release and I have it applied to the realism 2.98 mod which is fairly underplayed. It took me literally 20 minutes to add the information, just make sure your traits and the corresponding triggers are all copy into your export desc character traits files. Triggers go on the bottom below the triggers begin here section. If you have problems I can try to help.
