Earl Harald of Hereford arrived, bringing 500 men. Amongst them were 4 barons, who were each leading 20 elite Norse Huscarls, while he himself had a retinue of 25 War Clerics armed with maces and big kite shields. A company of 50 crossbowmen had been organised to support the 100 levied hunters who served as bowmen. A number of mailed and dismounted huscarls were standing in between the levies, roughly 150 farmers armed with scythes.

Two hundred and twenty five men under Gaspard Bles, one of Phillipe's knights arrive at Bamburgh. Twenty five calvarymen, fifty archers armed mostly with crossbows, a hundred and thirty spear armed peasantry, and twenty men at arms in light mail wielding a variety of melee weapons.
Roland had long cleaned away his beard and groomed his hair to a status similar to before his successive imprisonments by an Earl and a King, but the gaunt look remained.
He found himself a high point as he surveyed the feudal gathering: all the banners of northern England were present, the Northumbrians gathered in great numbers, followed by numerous Mid-lander families, and the Marcher men from the Welsh border.
He spotted a Gascogne banner to his surprise near the few devices from Normandy.
Fecamp stoop from the small overlook with utter awe.
This was a grand feudal gathering, and all the chivalry of England, new and old, was here, in Bamburgh.
Such a thing would not surprise him in France; this happened regularly under the Capetians.
But it was, in Roland's experience, unheard of in the land of the Saxons.
William surveyed the groups of men that were forming below the formidable castle.
2750 men... 3250 if you count Bamburgh and 3750 if you count Carlisle... Not a bad number.
Carlisle arrived alone. He had returned home to his wife and newborn boy but had spent less than a fortnight with them before being called here. His mind was still full of gurgling and fluffy bunnies: he would teach him to hunt!
William nodded in greeting.
Carlisle.
Carlisle had counted the banners and knew that yet more would arrive. Exhaling, he nodded.
A conquest...
A harrying.
He corrected, smiling.
We shall not occupy Lothian for long.
Carlisle almost smiled, this was great news.
Where is Lord Bamburgh?
Patrick arrives with some 500 men behind him
Lord Edward arrives with 500 men, though he is too young to fight himself but it is an opportunity to better his military tactics.

A small boy and a baron come unto us.
De Vassy raised his eyebrow when Lord Burke had arrived.
Carlisle had clearly misheard him greet the baron. Nevermind
(OOC:)
Here is lord Bamburgh himself.
ooc: blehbtw, Lord Edward's five years old... Military tactics? The kid should still be fingerpainting, or more appropriately learning how to read and write via religious texts. Military stuff comes nearer 7 with actual practical applications beginning nearer 12.
ic:
Carlisle eyed the new arrivals, grunting at the appearance of the boy, this was no place for him. The Baron looked a strange fellow to Carlisle, young - though so had he been when he had been named a Baron - but there was something about him that rubbed Carlisle up the wrong way.
Bamburgh, as a noble of Northumberland you are obligated to join your men to the Wardens of the northern border.
OOC: what can I say the boy is a genius, and he isn't a baron he is an earl lol
Edward bowed before the King and greeted him politely, than proceeded to meet with th other lords

OOC: I was talking to bamburgh.
William could barely suppress a laugh as the young boy waddled away to meet with the other lords.
Aideen arrived at the gathering of people, it was rather an interesting think to observe. Mannanán had attracted a few villagers who followed him, awed at the strength he had and his prowess with the blade. So far the head count was at ten, and she had no doubt it would grow. They where barely old enough to run a farm on their own, but they followed anyway. Aideen felt glad they where here now, everyone around had people following them, so Aideen didn't stick out as much. She wondered who was the main figurehead around here, someone she could speak to about what was going on around here, other than a lot of people gathering in one spot.
Ooc as I understand it I'm baron of bamburgh
IC Patrick walks over and bows before the king.
"My King it is an honor."
