Default Centralized addministration...the best add on

Is that what it is called? Anyhow the mod that makes your cities need a governor in order to commision building constructuion or troop recruiting has made leaders even more important. And it has finaly made it so you have a legit reason to keep some leaders as governors. Especialy for Gondor each fief has its own regional Governor to start and you have a good reason to leave them governing their districts at least until their area's are built up.

It helped slow down Mordor's early game blitzing of Gondor as well. Seems factions spend the first 40 turns building up instead of spamming militia and invading. Much improved. The game starts 40 years before the War of The Ring and i prefer a steady buildup until all sides have better troops and economy. Now Mordor won't just throw a bunch of Nazgul at you early on because they need to direct the development of their settlements for some time before they can uncleash the beast.

And now the early game skirmish over Ithilien is more like the back and forth tug of war instaed of the early all out assault it used to be. Governors are now just as important as Generals especialy in the early game.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this pretty much the same as checking off "manage all cities" on the campaign selection screen? Does it actively alter the way the AI behaves on the campaign map?

I usually don't play with either feature, as I like my campaigns to run a little faster (my campaigns in any TW game seldom run longer than 200 turns) I don't have too many hours to sink into gaming with job, wife and the kid filing up my days.

Perhaps I should try it out, just for a 100 turns to see how it plays out? Is it necessary to check off "manage all cities" to play with this script?

I know of the mangage all cities feature for Rome and its mods but was not aware for Medieval and its mods.

With that said i tried it by accident and i have to say it compels you and possibly the AI to keep their leaders in the cities in the early stages. As a result the the AI often has their early armies poor low tier armies with no leaders or cheap leaders. Later you see more of the top leaders like say the Nazgul that stay hidden early on. With the Garrison scipt and other money aids for the AI they used to simply throw the best leaders and tons of soldiers at you while building and recruitng without governers. Now they seem to hold back their best in the early game as they need to build up and wont send the Witch King say with whatever poor army they have to field.

When your playing as Gondor its nice to have a skirmish and calm before the storm. Because when Mordor and Harad finaly start unleashing its a grind. At least you can defeat their early armies as they hold their best leaders back until they are ready.
