    Default Rain, Rain, Go Away...

So this sort of occured to me after switching back and forth between MOS and Vanilla to compare them....

Has anyone had a problem with the weather? I mean, for some reason it is ALWAYS raining in Middle Earth unless you are in a desert region, but even then...
Its not just vanilla, but MOS as well, even when I click wait, the weather 8/10 stays raining. I have a problem with this, as I find archers are indispensable in the early game for almost every faction, most importantly Dale (my Dale campaign is the reason I'm posting this!).

Is there something in the script to make the game less...rainy? I don't remember this much rain in M2TW

With Mordor in the game, you're lucky it's not Raining Blood

Seriously, though, I can't say I've noticed it's too rainy. The weather does seem more varied than M2TW, and I quite like that. Battling in a blizzard, albeit frustrating, can be quite epic!

    Its true.

ITS ALWAYS RAINING ON MIDDLE EARTH. That destroys the beauty of custom settlements and all graphic improvements of the mod. Its annoying. Its always raining.

I don't really notice rain that much. There was one time when it was snowed. And I launched a night attack. Couldn't see anything when the camera height was just over the taller trees.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I am me. You are not me. You are you. If I was you, I wouldn't be me.
If you were me, I'd be sad.But I wouldn't then be me because you'd be me so you wouldn't be me because I wasn't me because you were me but you couldn't be because I'd be a different me. I'd rather be any kind of bird (apart from a goose) than be you because to be you I'd have to not be me which I couldn't do unless someone else was me but then they would be you aswell so there would still be no me. They would be you because I was you so to restore balance you would have to be me and them meaning all three of us would become one continously the same. That would be very bad.

Really? I've been playing for years and haven't noticed a large amount of rain.

^That, and the rain makes the sky go cloudy, which is realistic because orcs and stuff dont like sunlight. It's pretty lore-accurate weather for fighting in Middle Earth.

I got frustrated with the rain as well and saw a thread where someone (sorry can't remember who) edited the weather file to reduce the amount of rain.
I modded the file even more and am happy with the results.
I have attached a compressed copy of the file. Feel free to try it and mod it even further if you wish. Be sure to make a backup copy of your original just in case.

Thanks for letting us know. I just didn't have time when I posted to search for the info.

No, this is just something I did for my own version, not a published copy. Since it is a matter of personal preference and does not really enhance lore or reality, it is just a stand-alone file.

I haven't noticed that much rain in my campaigns.. And when it does rain it's usually a light rain or just a shower that goes away. Meh, I like rain in my games

Perhaps you are fighting alot of your battles in Winter and Autmn when odds for rain are greater? It is four turns
per year. However i love the moody atmosphere.

Rain was a real issue in 3.0 but I was sure that was handled in 3.2 or 3.2, can't remember rain annoyed me in least 3.2 games

I think the OP means that when you start a battle with rain, even if you press wait all the wait long there will be very few chances that you'll get clear sky.

You often get clear sky halway through the battle. Same with blizzards. Unfortunately mostly the battles are already finished by then :-).
