Okay I posted in the modding section...oops. Anway, something occurred to me yesterday while I was thinking about the new Medieval game. I was scanning through screenshots and videos and of particualr interest to myself is CA are going to improve the campaign map. So heres my thought, Im not sure if this has been suggested, or has already been thought of by CA and is going to be implemented but anyway here goes:

Basically I think it would add depth and realism if CA were to allow the campaign map to have to different overlays. The first one would be the normal view and all units would appear on the map including priest armies etc. The second would be a religion overlay (accessed by hitting a button or scroll bar, something to that effect). Now I know you will be able to recruit preists and those priests can preach a certain religion in your lands and elsewhere and those priests can be eleveted to cardinals and even the pope; or they can become heretics and bad things will happen. Anway, the religion overlay I've been thinking about would show the dispersal and overlay and possible overlapping of religions in certain areas (e.g. Catholocism would be shown as a large green blob in Western Europe much like the one surrounding armies that details their movement allowance, Greek orthodox could be purple and would be in the area of Byzantium etc). I think a feature like this would add historical accuracy to the game as it would simulate the heretic Cathar and Waldensian religions that existed around this time. This would also mean that as the player you may have to send units to stamp out these religions. It may add a dynamic aspect to the game and I dont think the requirements would be to great.

So what are the thoughts on this? And does anyone know if this has already been planned?
