Geoffrey de Montfort arrived early at Windsor castle, looking a little bit impressed at the keep.
Riding on his horse and followed by a small retiniue of men, who would give their own life to protect him he rode towards the gates.
"Geoffrey de Montford", he introduced himself friendly, "Merchant and fifth son of Simon de Montfort, the father of the current Lord Montfort, my dear brother Amaury in the Normandy. I would like to talk with his grace for reasons of buiseness. Due to my knowledge many men died during the last war, God bless their souls, and he may be interested in a loyal man like me. Tell him that this is the reason why I've come the long way from York to Windsor Castle."

The guard grumbled and let the man into the royal court. Tapestries hung on the walls depicting the conquest of London by de Vassy, and the man himself sat on the royal throne of saint Edward.

Geoffrey bowed, when he arrived in front of the king and looked up to the man sitting on the throne.
"Your majesty, I'm Geoffrey de Montfort, merchant from York and son of Simon de Montfort I., the father of the current de Montford lord in Normandy, my brother Amaury", he began, "I don't know how much was told you already about me, but I was never a friend of De Clare and his try to get the crown of England. In my opinion a man of pure Norman blood shall rule our country, not a bastard with questionable claims. I always prayed to God that you would win this conflict and it seems like he had heard my prayers.
But unfortunately I was never able to support you during the war. Supporting a man like you while unknowing the loyality of the nobles, ruling this region isn't a wise decision in a world like this and losing my head wouldn't have helped you either. And as you can see, though I'm a small merchant, I was only able to purchase a small retiniue of less than ten men.
However, we can celebrate now the times of peace and I'm able to leave the city without getting suspected by your and my enemies, if they exist. As a son of a notable Norman family, living now under a Norman king who is in my opinion able to continiue the reign over the kingdom, William the Conqueror left with his death rather than his predecessors of questionable heritage, I would like to serve you now in repayment for the better times you will enable to all English nobles and citizens and aid you whenever you're in need of my services. I may was a whimp when I hid myself in York and show up now, but as a retrieval I ask you to allow me to be your loyal servant for eternity and until death, even if your enemies rise against you another time and I have to sacrifice my own life to save the life of my king. This is the reason why I left Yorkshire and I will accept your judgement."
He looked down to the floor again and waited for an answer to his honest request.

OOC: Am I right when I say that William III. isn't a bastard, compared with Archer and De Clare? I missed lots of RP here and due to my knowledge William started the war just because of this reason if I read it right.
Furthermore, I'm unsure about the County of York and who is actually ruling it:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earl_of_York
I only know that the Duchy was established later.

"Thats good idea. I could check for heads while there" She replied, looking around for someone that looked guardy, guards always knew what was going on. She spotted one of them-he was looking at them the was any Chulainn would look at a stranger on the farm. Which was understandable, this was the farm he was protecting, they may not grow anything and it was much bigger than any farm she had ever seen, but it was a good way of putting it- and headed over, grinning and being generally excitable.
"Hello. You know Blacksmith?" She asked him.
The guard looked at her oddly, and shrugged.

"what would a woman want with a smith?"

OOC: yes, I'm true born. I'm not sure about the county, as its divided into ridings, although I'm sure ill be able to work something out.

    IC:

William watched patiently as the man spoke, listening carefully to all he said, before clearing his throat and responding.

I may have use for a good Norman man of noble blood. Can you fight?

    Geoffrey nodded.
"I may be a little bit out of training, but I learnt how to fight with a sword at Montfort keep in my youth and trained nearly every week when I had enough time for it after buiseness", he replied , "I don't just trust in the skills of the men I hire, it's always useful to know how to use a sword in my opinion. Every Norman should know this."

The Earl, or Jarl as he styled himself in his Norse accent, knelt before his King. "Your Grace," he said. "I have come here today to ask another great boon of you."

"The one of love and marriage and children, My King. Now that i am a nobleman, it is finally time to settle down and pursue a family, instead of the coin which took me all over Europe."

    William leant back, and nodded.

I'm sure there is a noblewoman suited for the Earl March... A wealthy heiress perhaps? I know not, I have no daughters old enough to offer you.

The Earl laughed. "Yes, i already had my eye on someone... However, she is not of this realm. I am talking about Lady Matilde of Innse Gall."

"Aye," Harald said, trying to feign the accent to no avail. "She has Nordic blood in her veins though," he told his King, blushing.

    William chuckled loudly,

Wild blood then? I'm sure you'll enjoy your bride to be... Courting her may be to our advantage.

Carlisle arrived a couple of days after the coronation. He had been living an unassuming life in London in a tavern and sleeping in the adjoining small stable's hayloft.
