    Default Casse in central Europe

So there was I, Fall of 266 BC, King of the Getai and I send a spy to Eburonum and I see the usual stacks of veteran barbarians but then I see one stack of Casse slingers, led by slinger general Beredos. I thought that was odd, so I keep my spy to see what happens to them, wondering if those slingers are somehow sent from the gods to take Eburonum from the Boii and establish a Casse colony in the middle of central Europe. Well, needless to say they were wiped out the next season, but I did have a change to start trade relations with them. I am playing EB on ALX.exe, Medium Battles, Hard Campaign. I took a screenshot for those who don't believe me. But why the hell were the Casse so far from home? Was there some historical thing about the Casse ending up there or is it some game bug?

It's either a bug or a gameplay thing.

I guess thy got there by being an expeditionary army on the mainland, and after landing south of britain, they were defeated several times and got there.

Doesn't one of the Belgae cities revolt to Casse? I mean if its taken by say the Romani or Averni, and had a minimal garrison. Also IIRC there's a script for a Casse invasion of the mainland in EB 1.2.

If it was the Casse invasion, there'd be more than just a couple slingers. My guess is that they were bribed, as GRANTO said. Plus, IIRC the Casse invasion happens much later than 266 BC

I've seen it in many of my campaigns, I thought it was a scripted army. I always send my diplomats there to get trade rights with Casse.
“The hardest thing in the world is to assume the mood of a warrior. It is of no use to be sad and complain and feel justified in doing so, believing that someone is always doing something to us. Nobody is doing anything to anybody, much less to a warrior.” ― Don Juan
"It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag." -- Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

I've never encountered a casse diplomat on mainland Europe before. They don't move troops or anything across the channel. Maybe after the Casse invasion.

Maybe have a look and see where their diplomat is located currently?

There is a script for casse that gives them a good army on the mainland. But not an Army of all slinger

As far as I know, that script activates - when it doesn't bug out and not activate at all - many years in, not six years in.

The script is when the Casse have conquered the entire British isles. And no way have they done that by 266BC .

It's possible that a diplomat bribed them. It could also be that they landed by ship and are just wandering around, although that would be weird AI behaviour.

Considering he's using Alex, it wouldn't be too surprising if the Casse had sent their diplomat across, I don't think.

    Here you go:

It's section 8p of the script.

They need to have conquered all the British isles, they need more than 150k mnai in their treasury, and then there is a 3% chance per turn of their scripted landing on the mainland.

3%? now that's just incredibly random.

anyways thanks for the explanation. I don't remember ever getting that much mnai anyways.

It won't happen if you're playing as the Casse! The EB team reckon you're intelligent enough to invade the mainland when you're ready . It's only for the AI Casse, since they would otherwise just sit around in London twiddling their thumbs...

It doesn't seem to specify the army though, just the ships.

There's a lot more script, I just took a screenshot of the beginning of it.
