Releasing the Prisoners
The guard grinned at the small group of men who were being led out of the makeshift prison. Under de Vassy's orders, all the men who had been taken prisoner by De Clare were to be released. The prisoners escaped under the watchful eyes of the guards, who monitored them carefully.
Lucky bastards, the lot of ye.

Re: Releasing the Prisoners
Roland de Fécamp had grown a long beard to match his knotted mess of hair.
Free once again. De Clare, le hongre as Roland had long dubbed him, was likely planning to hang him from loins after finally catching him again;
There was a history of naughty and defaming songs about the Baron from de Fécamp.
But Le Fur de Ficis was lucky once again, and the Baron had forgotten his prisoner and then lost him along with his power.
And the songs would continue; Le Fur de Ficis wasn't finished with the Baron.

Re: Releasing the Prisoners
The guards led forward the bard, and unbound his hands.
Behave now, won't you? We don't want the likes of you near us.

Re: Releasing the Prisoners
He gathered saliva in his mouth and spit at their feet.
Emaciated and hairy, imprisonment was not kind to Fécamp.
But his melodious voice still remained.
"Geldings can't handle a stallion, hmm?"
The guards enjoyed beating Roland and Roland enjoyed putting them down through prose.

Re: Releasing the Prisoners
The larger guard wrinkled his nose at Roland.
You weren't so daring when we threatened to get big Alfred to come down and use you as a woman.

"Feral dogs find courage in packs, bears fight alone" he bared his teeth as he followed the other prisoners up into the light.

"Not one that you can handle" he continued to mumble.
So where is this leading? Are we just endlessly walking up stairs, trading insults about manliness?

Re: Releasing the Prisoners
Yes.
The guards finally shove him into the light, where de Vassy waited along with Beaufort. They were discussing the coronation; seemingly oblivious as the prisoners were being lined up.

Re: Releasing the Prisoners
The hirsute bard squinted into the bright realm of the living, and eyed the two mounted nobles.
"Ah, my savior. Was he expecting a damsel? Because he found a shaggy dog."

De Vassy chuckled, then looked at him again.
Haven't I seen you before? Lincoln, was it? Or Leciester... I believe you were speaking to Beaumont.

He grinned through his beard.
"Le Hongre is de Clare"
Roland sniffed.
"Sometimes I like to call him La Ber d'Arbilla"
