    Default Best general

One thing i always love in medieval is when you get a beast of a general. I just want you to name(if you can remember) the best general you ever had for example for me it was Caselano The Mad(who i named my account after) in my Milan campaign he was full chivalry, loyalty, command and 8 piety he died at age 51 fighting the Timurids but not before taking down two Timurid generals When i got him at age 16 his only traits were dysfunctional and loyal i sent him to fight the Sicilians by time he wiped them at he was 22 full chivalry and loyalty with 6 command stars and had brutally scarred along with good with artillery.

My best general would probably Haldir/Legolas or some other Elven general in TATW but the guy I'm most attached to is Doge Morosino the Conqueror in one of my Venice campaigns in Stainless Steel. Despite his name he never set foot out of Venice though, he has been defending the city for 55 years now and has seen almost as many fights. As he is 71 now his health isn't too good and for someone with 20+ heroic victories 6 stars isn't a lot. In this campaign pretty much everything went wrong and I' was threathened with total defeat quite some times. Morosino was the main man to keep it all from falling and he can die peacefully now that the existance of Venice is somewhat more secured. He'll probably die in the armour defending his city though as Venice constantly attacked by the Papal States, Genoa and the Holy Roman Empire and Hungary, Sicily and the Byzantine Empire are threathening what's left of my domain.

I always end up with my best generals being Scottish -- with names like "Alexander the Mighty" which I think is pretty sweet =P . The reason I have such great generals, and in particular FM when I play as Scotland is because...

A - I always seem to end up with many F.M. as the Scots.
B - Due to their lack of any Heavy Cav beyond the Feudal Knights - and the sprinkling of Order Knights (sometimes not guaranteed) -- I rely on my F.M. to act as an effective Heavy Cavalry force. Especially the tight-manuevers, and re-grouping for massive charges..

I end up with the great - Lead from the front Generals, who are highly Chivalrous. We release the captured, and occupy settlements. Not even a brothel in our cities -- We're SCotch Presbyterians after all =P

Vaasco the Crusader for me. 10 piety, 10 chivalry, 9 loyalty, and 10 command. As the name says, he went on a crusade under the orders of the pope, and was about 42 when he went off for the journey. He wasn't very good at first; then he went through the enemy territory of Egypt. He gain command from this, which made him a capable and proven commander. He crushed Egypt, but didn't destroy the faction. He would hate to see the culture of it crumble. He then proceeded to take Antioch from the Rebels, and did so with ease. He was awarded with the title of Crusader, and then sent back home. When he got back, he was in his fifties and obviously aging. Well, when he got back to Spain after most of the troops moved back to different settlements, he was crossing the Iberian Peninsula, and was flanked by the Moors, which had just then broken their alliance with Spain. Vaasco fought hard and well, but he was just outnumbered by a wide margin. His son would grow up to be a general also, but never as good as his father. His son had a low loyalty(1 or 2), and went to the rebels.

My best general was one with 10/10/10/9 attributes; chivalric general. He had the amusing name of "Alexy the Wrathful", despite having 10 Chiv (it eventually changed to 'the Mighty' and later 'the Chivalrous' though). He also had the 'Filled with Rage' mod, which again, I found amusing because of his Chivalry. Best of all, he had never even gone on a crusade, and without exception, always executed prisoners after a battle, so it's rather curious as to why he had such a high Chiv score. He got many of his stats/mods from defending Iconium (or whatever that city to the SW of Caeserea is) from multiple Jihad armies.

Sadly, he died of natural causes at 61 or 62. What an inglorious way for him to go

Iqbal the Wicked when I was playing as the Khwarezmian Empire once.

His dread rating was off the charts and I once saw him ride into a storm of arrows to take out around 10 men when we took the city of Constantinople.
