esquire of daimyo
i'm not sure but who is the person that carry katana behind daimyo when he is seated ? sametime this person is a woman also. It's part of hatamoto team of lord ?

i found this ! he/she is known like Koshō ( 小姓 ) that means "following a noble" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Kasuga/sandbox

It entirely depends upon time period, status, wealth, and the number of vassals. It might be a go-kenin or gokenin, it is spelled both ways:

They were either vassals to a hatamoto, but they might be a vassal to a daimyo or even the shogun. I'd look up both and see which one you're trying to describe.
