Hello there. I'm SusaVile, I am a let's player on youtube, and I would like to promote an idea.
In Starcraft 2, there is an idea divulged on the community about "funday monday". It started through a SC2 commentator/theorist called Day(9), which states the following:
Every week, he gives a small constraint to the game. That can be anything, from not using a certain unit, or trying to expand very early, or trying to avoid the basics of the game in order to keep people imagining new strategies.
I wanted to know if you would like to take this idea into play on Total war games. It can be on battles or campaigns, like "don't use cavalry unless on direct assault", or "never siege during more than 3 turns, you have to attack the siege". Something that would take people out of their confort zone, and try out new strategies. Of course, the new strategy must make some sense: cavalry charges can be very effective, but most of the time we are not willing to do so afraid of the outcome. It can be interesting to see that sometimes you can actually charge on the front with a good result. Siege attacks are often hard to make, so it can cause the person to prepare better for a siege, and enhance their capabilities at it.
There could be a vote from 2-5 categories of ideas, and then, the next week, people would share their accomplishments on the forums. Pictures, videos, anything would be fine.
So, I would like to think what the community thinks of this idea, and if anyone would be willing to try out.
Btw, check "funday monday day9" on youtube for a better sense of what I'm talking about.
Thks for your time, have fun!
