I've since given up trying to give Mordor Sauron to start with...literally 6 hours of trying to figure out how to start with Sauron and just repeated crashes.
So, I unlocked the papal states (The Dark Lord), obviously not meant to be played...due to not even having any movie (well, unless you count the original Medieval 2 pope movie). But, I noticed after 50 or so turns, The Dark Lord (at least on the Extended Map) is stuck in the corner of the map. There is a huge line of mountains blocking him. I tried using my...forgot what they were named...but my evil servants. They went all along the mountain and there was no passage anywhere. Really boring cause of that lol.
I want to give The Dark Lord (or Papal States) the capital of Mordor and have Mordor have a different capital. I went into Descr_strat and moved Gorgoroth province (I assume this is where Barad Dur is located) into the Papal States section and removed their original starting city that is in the list. But, all that did was make their capital controlled by rebels and Mordor still had their capital.
Really, I just want to play as Sauron. From turn 1. But I'm having a huge problem being able to play as him. He is my favorite character of Middle Earth and one of my favorite "evil" characters of any universe (movie/book etc).
The closest I came was...well playing the "Papal States" and getting Sauron to appear after 50 or so turns. But, he was stuck in his little corner of the map. And when I did the teleport cheat, my dark lord teleported back to his starting position. And my servants, even the one that starts near Mordor would teleport back to my starting position and lose all their traits, as well.
I'm guessing being Papal States will be easiest to play as Sauron. Hopefully this isn't another 6 hour ordealSince all I should have to do is just have to move his city to the capital of Mordor (and give them a new capital) and leave his original city as a rebel place.
