Bit confused by this thread, what is the latest version exactly?
There are 3 versions.
1. Skirmish-volley fire post #74
2. Fire by Rank post #80
3. Improved Platoon Fire post #83

BATTLE MUSIC LOOP FIX. For those who want to replace the battle music with your own music without the stupid music loop
here is what you do. 1. Open DME_Music_On with the PFM and use the replace file feature and replace the battle music with your own and make sure that it is named exactly the same as the file you are replacing. 2. Use the add file feature and go to directory and then select the folder Sounds_Packed and add that to DME_Music_ON then click save in PFM.
3. Open the file DME_Sounds.pack with PFM and add file folder Sounds to DME_Sounds.pack then click save. Now your music will play without looping. It works good for music cues less than 20 minutes long.
UPDATE: Skirmish Mode Version more line infantry added. Cavalry and Infantry speed boosted 5% for better behavior.

Playing as Poland, late campaign, using this version. On my 25th turn, the campaign crashes on end turn. It has something to do with brits since they are the first to take their turn. Also, if I try to use diplomacy with britain, on turn 25, it will crash.
Bran maybe you should separate out the submods into CAI, BAI, unit/building stats, etc. In the future, it would make it easier to track down any game breaking bugs.
I am using improved platoon fire fire by rank version from post #83 and there is a problem with my cavalry. When they charge they stop in front of the emeny and get shot until I order them to charge again. Is there a different version I should use or what can I do to make the cavalry better. Thanks. I see where you did something for the cavalry on other versions but which should I use or this version.

UPDATE: Better unit speed for Cav and Infantry-IMPROVED PLATOON FIRE VERSION. Note: double click on target for Cav attacks. Raised deceleration on cav for better penetration. Choppah-looking into game crashing-I have not had a crash for 75 turns. Go into your db file and go to campaign ai personality junction tables and lower the Value Analysis Time Horizon to 4 and see if that helps.

I've been using the volley-fire version. Units volley fire correctly at first, but they start using FBR after it is researched.
Thanks Bran.

UPDATE: SKIRMISH VOLLEY FIRE VERSION: units will not do FBR after it is researched-they will do volley fire. So hope this works . Made it so if Ai researches FBR it will produce mass fire volley fire.

For those using skirmish fire make sure you reduce the accuracy in the projectiles tables. Reducing it at over 50% is a good one that'll help cut down on the casualties at long range but keep the close range devastation. There's another one that affects base accuracy of a weapon and you can hit that too. Faster than changing all of the unit stats.
Marksmanship in unit stats land and half chance hit in kv rules table. If you want devastating fire at close range and weak accuracy at long range then raise the marksmanship up into the 60's or 70's and lower the half chance hit to below 40.
Ok, thanks for the info.
do the versions work for custom battles because im using the skirmish volley in custom battles and line inf are still fbr
Use post #96. Yes it works in custom battles.
What's the best way to adjust movement speed of units? Currently infantry slides through the fields like skating on ice. The slow mo isn't slow enough, when you try to control an army of 20 thousand men, like I do in my very own scenario (testing it at the moment).
