Disk Read Error

While attempting to load NTW I get the following msg:
"an error occurred while updating Napoleon Total War (disk read error)."
I've run chkdsk but still get the same msg. Any help appreciated.

Log in as Administrator, disable the UAC assuming Vista or Win 7/8, and verify the game cache in this order.

Thanx for the info. However, I'm Running Win XP. Does that make a diffrence? Appreciate your patience.

XP, it's down to either a bad install of XP or a bad install of Napoleon. I would not rule either out.

Yes had many mods, too many I guess, many conflicts. That's why I decided to delete and reinstall.

Did you delete both Napoleon folders before reinstalling? XP also has two Napoleon folders.

Yea I notice there's one under, Application data/The Creative Assembly and one under, SteamApps/common. Could this cause a problem ya think?

It could be. Delete both and do a clean install is the only way to know for sure.
