Best mod ?

What is in you're opinion the best Mod for RTW (i got 1.6 )? i don't know which mod to play.

the only mod that i've played is the extended greek mod.

i've DL RTR it but i can't install it on 1.6 ? is there a way to mod some files so it does work?

BTW i cant find the Spqr mod on TWcenter.

RTR is for 1.2, and platinum is for 1.5, so there is your problem. Now the 1.2 patch is no longer avaliable from totalwar.com, so if you want it you have to do a google search for it. But I would use platinum if I was you. Its far better, and the 1.3 patch is avaliable from totalwar.com (and you just install it over 1.0), then you install the 1.5 patch, then RTRPE, voila!

it all depends on what you like. I had to experiment with a few mods before i decided wich ones i wanted to play, for me i like XGM and SPQR there both very good mods and very fun to play. Also if youre looking for SPQR just go to "hosted community projects, then choose major mods then scroll all th way down to the bottom it should be the second one from the bottom.

RTR is awesome because of the huge amount of realism, but Terrae Expundagae is also an awesome mod. I suggest trying a few and then going with the one that you enjoy playing the most. For me its Terrae Expundagae, because i found that RTR had too many settlements for my taste. Its all up to you which mod you want to play.

"Terrae Expundagae" for me. The battles are far tougher than any other mod out there (at least for me), and the game is much tough and interesting. The map and units are good, and the experience is magnificent.

Every mod has something: realism, batle animation, maps, description etc All combined in one full mode Bare Bone + Darth+ RTR + EB+ SPQR + Gestae+ ... etc there are so many would be something

In the real world, not everyone has that kind of time.

They would rather jump straight for the best mod and not waste their time with the lackluster ones.

I think I've tried all the major mods that are available and a lot of the sub-mods as well. It's why Rome, as a game, seems to be evergreen for me and it's really the only game that holds my attention. (I've tried alternatives like Civ.; AoE; Cossacks; Imperial Glory but none of them have captured my imagination as Rome has, and it's been back into the box with them after a week or so.)

I've usually got a few campaigns on the go, from various mods, but the one I always seem to gravitate back to is RTR6 Gold. I don't know why, I think it must be its overall balance of realism, scale, factions, units and game-play.

As an aside, I played a vanilla Julii campaign, a little while ago. I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun it was. It reminded me why I took to Rome in the first place. Despite the lack of features, that I've long grown accustomed, and maybe being realism-lite, it was still an extremely enjoyable experience.
