Custom Game Crash

Iv been playing the Third Age Total War 3.2 and iv been trying to play some custom games but i cant play the Rammas Echor or regular land battles. it always gives me the unspecified error message and the game crashes. it seems like the only thing i can play in a custom battle are the few maps that you need to choose the right settlement level and culture for like Helms Deep and Minas Tirith. help? Thank you in advance.

This sounds strange, you can play some battles as you say ? Have you tried deleting map.rwm file found in M2TW\ mods\ Third_Age_3\ data\ world\ maps\ base folder ?

Also, you can delete two descr_geography_new files ( .db and .txt ) found in M2TW\ mods\ Third_Age_3\ data folder.

hello! yes i have deleted the map.rwm file and have just now deleted the two descr_geography_new files.

Can you play campaign battles? Is your system strong enough to play battles in TATW? It is a resource demanding game, test with lowering Video options.

nope, cant play campaign battles either, just tried both custom and campaign. plus i lowered the videos settings in the game and still didnt work for either. its strong enough to play the custom battles were you NEED to choose the settlement type and culture type that they tell you to choose, but all the other maps just crash and soon as they load.

Go to your Time and Date (bottom right corner of your desktop) go to Time zone, Change time zone, and uncheck Automatically adjust daylight savings.

forgot to mention i already did that too, that was the first thing i did before coming to this forum. wow i must have real problem here huh?

Perhapse it's a wrong installation then.. what Windows you have, and is your M2TW /Kingdoms steam, or non steam version?

how do you find out what version of windows you have? and there non steam.

On your desktop go to Start, right mouse click on My Computer and go to Properties.

1. Where is your M2TW installed? Give us the exact location.

2. And, is your M2TW\ Kingdoms updated to 1.5 version (1.05 ) ? When you open one of your Kingdoms campaigns, and go to Options, in one of the corners there is a number of your current version. If you have 1.5 ( 1.05 ), no need for updating. And updating to 1.5 ( 1.05 ) is not really needed, but people report it helps with their game.

If you have 1.04 ( 1.4 ), you can update it with one of these patches located HERE. Some people didn`t get the right patch and had to download more than one, for example, if you have UK Gold version, sometimes UK patch won`t work, then US or EU Gold would work ( happened to me too ). You will know which patch is good one for you when you don`t get an Errror message during updating.
