Rome Total War battle lag :o

Hoi, just gonna post a problem I'm having with Rome - in that it lags quite a lot in large battles.

It's not my PC (although, I suspect it is..if that makes sense) as my specs are:

Intel i5 2500k 3.3GHz
8GB RAM
Nvidia GTX 560
Windows 7

Yeah, I suspect it's because Rome doesn't really work so well with a modern quadcore CPU. But it's just a bit annoying how it ran better on my old, AMD Athlon dual-core, PC. So, is there anything I can do? :o

I got intel quad myself. No problem with Rome though. I also got half your memory, windows 7, and an 6770 ATI card. In mods like EB or Roma Surrectum 2, when I really push the engine with all those special options the modders include, I may experience a little smooth-movement deterioration.
