very upset ctd after long hard victory

Just had the worst ctd ever after fighting my best battle ever i had 6000 troops the enemy 7000
i manage to win just, i waited for a min before clicking end battle and then as the campaign was loading up ctd
so annoyed took nearly 45 mins to win that.
Also i have not had a ctd within around 20 battles apart from this.

can anyone help me or suggest i do anything as i need to fight this battle again and do not want another ctd

- Are you playing connected to the Internet and running Anti-Virus s/w?

- Are you playing windowed and also running programs and doing other things?

If either/both - particularly the first - then you should think again. It also sounds like that was a multi-stack battle using Huge units - honestly, not recommended.

Took you advice yesterday and turned internet and anti virus of and also no other programs running as i have enabled game booster
i notice that it worked and i did not get any ctd till this battle

For whatever reason, the Alexander exe seems to provide more stability.

Well, the R:TW Alex exe is supposed to have better AI than R:TW BI (which itself is better than R:TW) and I've been using it for a number of years.

No exe is ever 100% stable and I've lost a Carthage campaign in beta test to some sort of corruption.

With the R:TW exe you lose the ability to use shield wall and swimming which is not a problem for me.

If you have the R:TW Alex exe then I'd suggest using it. If you don't have it then t may be worth buying especially as it should be fairly cheap now-a-days.
