The last stand
Hey guys i was playing Rome Total War the other i was the Romans fighting the Gauls.
Anyway i managed to break into the city and defeated all the Units but when i took the square they were only 3 gauls left fighting 500 Romans this went on for ages.
The questions i'm asking is how do i kill off troops quickly when theres only one or two left or do i have a bug in the game that can be fixed.
Any help would be app thanks.

-charge with cav
-throw your pillas
-swarm them with infrantry
really anyhting you do SHOULD kill these few pesky Gauls quickly

If you just ordered your troops out of the square and then ordered them to charge the 3 Gauls again then they probably would have died quickly.

I have seen something similar. A heroic Sassanid Levy Spearmen somehow fought off some four hundred Limitanei for several minutes! I zoomed in to watch the patriot fight gloriously. Makes me wonder what he was thinking! Anyway, missiles and cavalry charges are good for stubborn A.I. buggers (if only my men fought that well . . . sigh.)
