Can I Play Medieval II with Kingdoms disk in PC?

I have re-installed Medieval II and Kingdoms and patched Kingdoms to 1.5 in anticipation of playing SS7.0. It has been a few years since I played MTW2 but I remember being able to play MTW2 or any of the four kingdoms campaigns with the kingdom disk in my PC. (I would almost always play SS 6.2 or 6.3). Is my memory failing or am I doing something wrong? Am I confusing playing SS with vanilla TW2?

You will need the Kingdoms disc short of a download from Steam, Amazon, etc.

I'm sorry, buy I have the Kingdoms discs and the MTW2 discs. My question is why with the Kingdoms disc in my PC drive I cannot play Medieval TW2 I get an error and it tells me to put in the Medieval TW2 disk.

I have never been able to play Medieval 2 with the Kingdoms disk, I always had to switch to the M2TW one.

I think you mean vanilla M2TW with Kingdoms disk then no unless you play a mod that uses Kingdoms.exe like Retrofit mod. Vanilla wise you need Med2 disk for Med2 and Kingdoms disk for any Kingdom campaigns. If SS uses Kingdoms.exe then you'll need Kingdoms disk to play it.

Thanks! That was my question....now my memory is clear.... It was SS 6.2 to 6.3 that used the kingdoms disc. (Kingdoms.exe)
