    Default IGameExplorer

I have NTW, ETW and S2TW on steam and up to now, these games have always worked well for me. Now, when attempting to launch any of these three games, I receive a message that states, IGameExplorer could not verify access.

I have an admin account, with no UAC or parental settings. I have verified cache deleted client registry, updated graphics card etc. I've goggled the problem and tried all the suggestions. Every other game words fine, it's just these three and it has just started happening.

    Any help would be appreciated.

How the devil did you get it from Microsoft? http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...=vs.85%29.aspx

Odds are it and Steam are not going to be friends.

Any further developments, contact Microsoft support since its their garbage gumming up the works especially if you Microsoft games installed that require internet connection.

Thanks for trying to assist, though I don't really understand what to do in the link.

I don't know what happened, all three games are retail and accessed through steam and have always worked, until this week.

Does Igameexplorer show up in Add/Remove programs? If so try uninstalling it.

No, it doesn't, I'm trying to find a way to disable it, but this is a very unusual problem.

Use regedit then. It sounds like a registry key locking things up.

Edit: just ran across this. http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=2746227

    Tried regedit, didn't work.

I came across that thread on google and tried it - set up a full admin account and tried with other accounts too but I just received an unable to make parental control settings message.

I tried regedit to turn parental control features off and that didn't work either. I think parental control is the root of the issue. Would it make a difference if I just deleted it from regedit?

    That one I don't know.

Just back up your registry before doing it.

No joy - might just give up on this for a while.

Have you tried disabling the UAC?

    Yup, that's disabled.

Tried pretty much everything I could think of. It's just so strange it's just these three TW games that are affected, every other piece of software runs perfect. Thanks for trying to help anyhow, I appreciate it
