    Default Installation Help

I am running Rome Total War off of version 1.5, I am using Widows 7.

I installed Roma Surrectum 2 once before, and it worked. The first time, I installed it directly into my Rome Total War folder and it worked perfectly. However, I uninstalled it once I realized that the mod broke Europa Barbarorum and the Vanilla. I uninstalled the mod and re installed Rome Total War.

This second time, I copied my Rome Total Folder onto this folder onto my desktop and installed Roma Surrectum into that folder. It won't work. I cannot oped the preferences file and I'm getting a message saying, "Failed to Initialize 3D Audio."

It's not my computer; it worked once again. I'm not sure what is wrong.

It would probably be good to start with a clean install.

I would recommend moving that folder from your desktop to somewhere on your OS. Personally I made a folder on the OS outside of Program Files(x86) called "Rome Total War Mods" and install all my mods there. It's possible that it not being inside the OS is what is causing the problem.

If that still doesn't work, copy your vanilla RTW folder from wherever it is - Program Files(x86)>SEGA, Program Files (x86)>The Creative Assembly, etc - make a new folder outside of Program Files but still in the OS and paste it in there. If it helps, the folder all my Rome mods go in is at this directory: "C:\Rome Total War Mods". I don't know much about technical stuff when it comes to PCs, but my guess is the problem was caused by the folder not being in the C drive or something like that.

    Hope this helps!
