Destroying Seleucids CTD as Macedon

It's all in the title. I'm playing as Macedonia, and I'm doing great

; I've remade Alexander's Empire and have it larger than even that now. I conquered all of the Middle East in just 15 years. However, whenever I kill the Seleucids it crashes to the desktop for me. I have to make them my protectorate, even though they keep betraying me

PS. This is my first post on the Total War forums! I've been playing this game awhile but I never really looked at the forums.

Strange, I CTD'd when I tried to conquer their last city in Parthia. Now that years have passed and their last city is in Azerbaijan, they no longer crash me to the desktop for ending them... hmm.. I wonder if the bug had to do with their national leader at the time, or the city... Or maybe my leader? My national leader died between those times.

Maybe you were expanding too fast, that happens to me sometimes...

I don't see why that would be a problem. Doesn't seem like it has anything to do with CTD when a faction is destroyed.

Maybe there was an issue with the settlement that was their last settlement glitching out? The way you described it and how it was fine when another city was their last certainly makes it sound like that was the issue.

Welcome - and in which case, have you looked for and tried out some/many/all of the little tweaks that have been suggested that could impact on CTD-behaviour?

The Mod, with one or two fixable when found issues, doesn't seem to cause CTDs. The game, however, does - in most cases simply because of it's age.

Given what you describe - do you have Autosave disabled? Do you run connected to the internet and with Anti-Virus s/w running?

I have not. I didn't know there was any tweaks. The only thing I changed was the Force Diplomacy thing you could add.

Auto save wasn't disabled, and I was connected to the internet with anti-virus.
