Icon5 M2TW lag with i5 processor and Nvidia GT 640...?

I have one problem: M2TW lag when two armies fighting in battle, i can perfectly play with Empire Total War, Napoleon Total War, Shogun 2 Total War and others recent games with +- high level textures and high/ultra size armies.
First i was thinking that my computer is too new for M2TW and incompatible with windows 8, but i can play perfectly with Roma Surrectum 2 on high level textures and huge size armies... Thus i make a thread in hoping that someone can give a solution to my problem.
    (My config is intel Core i5-3350P @ 3.10Ghz, Nvidia GT640-2GD3, 8GB Ram, Windows 8)

Have a good day @ all

This is a very old issue. When MTW2 came out, it could only use so much memory. It was a time of flux and later programs made use of the better multi-processors and memory and graphics cards within them. Try reading the link below:
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...ning-some-mods
All of these things will reduce lag in MTW2 or Kingdoms especially in mods with higher than normal texture levels. I am running with no lag whatsoever after doing those things. I can do this on a venerable 2007 low end laptop and run Third Age quite fine, and prior it was terribly laggy.

What should have happen is a minor patch by Creative Assembly that would have allowed more memory. It is a ridiculously simple change to the MTW2 application or Kingdoms.exe. It is against ToS to discuss how simple it is to fix. Instead even now, Creative Assembly could alter but one parameter and all would be well and good for all of the players of this otherwise exceptional game.

The thing that i find weird is that very much youtubers with +- the same config making M2TW & mods Let's play and they have zero lag with graphics and resolution high... but for now i have find one solution: making units size to "large" instead of "huge"... The battles loss interest when they not epic at all, thats ugly when we have a good config altough...
Ciao and thanks yet for the fast reply

right click on your med2 icon and choose to run it with high performance nvidia processor instead of the defaulted integrated graphic processor and you will not encounter this issue anymore. Good luck

You can do it in Nvidia Control Panel, too.

Go through all its menues and you'll find it.

The only bad thing I see is your graphic card. GT640 isn't exactly a gaming card.

Hum, okay thats not the newest technology but with this graphic card i can play perfectly with ETW, NTW, S2TW, Red Orchestra 2, etc... i am not one dandy which can change config everyday...^^ Thus the problem is not my config i think, my graphic card is not a prehistoric stuff, i play M2TW with large size armies instead of huge and thats work well, this is the only solution.
Thanks for yours answer @ all
