Super common error that has no real resolution that i've seen everywhere, baffling

I used to play this game a lot a while ago.

I recently bought the gold edition for 5 dollars.


I installed the gold edition, firstly it installs the base game, then it installs the 1.04 patch and 4 campaigns into the same directory. So far so good

Now, i've got two options.

1. Install Third Age (LOTR MOD) 3.0 part 1, than part 2, then 3.1 patch followed lastly by 3.2 patch

2. Install 1.05 kingdoms patch and then install the mod

..........

Ok so that's great, you've made it this far in the post and you know i've done everything i can in order.
When i run the third age.bat file (the command line checks out too and so does the directories)

The game starts, i see a splash screen maybe for 0.5 seconds, then desktop..

a small yellow box with....a yellow triangle......




I CAN

Play standard game i believe
+ the 4 campaigns fine.....
however, after patching to 1.05 i get some bull "activation" thing, so i'l have to re-install for the fifth time and stay at 1.04

Windows 7 Ultimate, UAC OFF, i've done properties > compat > admin yes

Gold Edition, US. with 1.05 US patch i've tried, also googled my brains and tons of people have this and no ANSWER

Have you installed the game outside Program Files (x86)? I have Win 7 Pro and mine is installed in C:|Games.

Yes, i've installed it onto a different drive, as well as going to the standard C:/ drive. Not in any programfiles (x86 non-inclusive),

really this is just total bull

I just installed


Gold edition, with just AMERICAS
then i re-downloaded part 1 of the mod, because it had a an error on the voice.dat
ok, all installed fine to patch 3.2 (of mod)
load up, same **** even at 1.4

Americas works....kingdoms does too,
standard game at 1.04 works too

Mod problem, not CA or Sega problem. Contact them.

I have the same exact problem after installing S.S. 6.4, but I cant launch Kingdoms vanilla. I can launch M2 vanilla fine, S.S. 6.4 fine, but I can't launch Kingdoms vanilla, I get that exact blank box with the yellow triangle...
