Is this something people would actually like to see? I've been looking for a coding project to keep me sane while I learn modelling...
I suppose the MOS team would need to sanction it too...hrhm....
if you want to attempt it drop a message to FireFreak and Hero of the West and ask permission i m sure they wouldn't mind .. but a warning this would consume your free time it is alot of work to transfer a map to a heavily scripted Mod compilation

-All co-ords in the campaign script would need to be re-done...as well as anything that used buildings/ regions
-the descr_strat would need to be re-worked
-descr_regions would probably need doing...

Things that I would assume (but might be mistaken) could be just dragged/ imported in

-text (might have to re-work this...not sure)

-Ai sets (might not be compatable...actually have NO idea about how the AI integration would work so that might be hairy)
If you noticed anything I might be missing (I'm sure there are a few things) or know would need editing let me know. It would probably be this or working on a new Angmar Resurgance mod but really either way it's good practice so if more people would like this then I might consider tackling it with the consent of Fire and Hero.

as far as i am aware .. i haven't tried this myself i might add... the AI works under general principles on the map .. so leaving alone the MOS working really bad AI may not be impossible (i really hope this is the case i think styix said he had long horrible hours of win merging the custom AI with Mos's scripts)
the UI's could just be left alone unless you get permission and want to include FF's paper minimap look alike thing , but that is just tga's placed in the right place in the world folder i imagine

almost certainly some of these if it's MOS , but i think it will be more of distributing the hidden resources properly again
and also making sure that the settlements that alow the recruitment of all the special units in MOS are still there..
ancils maybe if you are going to get permission of MIKE GOLF to redo his fiefdom ancils that come with the expanded map... not sure if anyone else worked on them or if there are any included in just MOS...
and no i can't see anything else obvious that you would have to do i will donate free time to help if i have anyso let me know if you under take this
