Random map generation, faction placement mod .

Hello modding community and all others here at TWcenter.I have been think about this a while ago and even did my tries too (unsuccessfully) but I still have this idea of random map generation, and faction placement mode.Maybe there is something similar already, but I have not seen anything like that.Idea is that before you start game you choose race, but you dont know where it will be located or even dont know how strong/ what units it have, game (algorithm) sets units for you by itself by some stats you choose ( for example you can set points around and you can set max to cavalry and low to archers, so you have weak archers but good cavalry, to make it even you have only limited points to set, something like that)Before start game generate map, you may set type of map (Islands on ocean, continents, large hills and so on), you may set region limit and maybe more options.Main idea is that you have not known map every time (ideal if not known areas are black) and you dont know how good are your enemies and where are they located.It will be completely different kind of gameplay and would be lot of fun playing it hotseat or singleplayer too.So is there anything similar done and how hard would be to do something like this?I am not big into programming, but have some exp with modding and I am sure I dont have enough in me to do something like this...//Richard H.
