Default Shogun 2 crashing during battles

I'm having problems with Shogun 2. It keeps on crashing during battles. When it crashes the screen will freeze and the audio will cut out. For a moment the audio will resume and the visuals continue for a few frames as well, but then Shogun 2 stops and returns to the desktop with no message at all. It is very odd and it has happened multiple times for a long time now. And I can't find a solution. Can any of you find anything wrong?

I believe there is a crash log as well (The .MDMP files?) but I'm not sure how to post tehm here.

try this if you use win7:
go to Start menu. Go to Accessories. Locate the command prompt shortcut and hover mouse over it. Right Click on the shortcut then select Run as Administrator.
    * In the command prompt type this exactly: bcdedit /set increaseuserva 2500. Then hit enter.
    *
Make sure you get a message back confirming the change was made. To verify the entry is there you can type just bcdedit, hit enter, and you should see the entry now listed.
    * Then close the command prompt. You just told Vista to increase user virtual address (userva) space to 2500MB.
    * Changes take effect on reboot.

@john duca, he has 64bit so your idea won't work.

What shows in the Event logs?
The .mdmp files go to Sega support.

I have 64 bit windows 7 with 8 gigs of RAM, so that shouldn't be the cause. You never know though. Would it be useful to try your suggestion but setting 8 gigs of ram?

@Irishron: Where are those event logs? I can't find them. Do I have to enable them in some way?
EDIT: Do you mean windows event logs? I found references to those in shogun 2 support threads, so I assume you mean that. But I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for. I don't see shogun 2 being named in the logs. Will continue looking

Windows Event logs are what I mean.

Any mention of shogun2, awesomium, chrome, flash, any windows .dlls would be helpful.

Hm, I found an error relating to shogun 2. My OS is in Dutch, so I translated it but I don't know what it would say in english so it's kind of a shot in the dark.:

If you have Chrome installed, http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...1#post12714276 forward.

Some have trouble with it, some not.

Hm, I might try that. After looking around a bit I found two other solutions (Update Realtek drivers and remove all mod files when it says ingame shogun 2 is modded despite those mods being niactive) and I played for 2 hours with no crashes. Which is awesome! But...

After those two hours, in the midst of a long and difficult battle, my pc... rebooted. No warnings, beeps, screens or anything. It was just ninjas attack spear levies, then suddenly the "no signal" screen from my tv and the pc rebooting. Very, very odd. I faintly remember reading about Shogun 2 and reboots before but wouldn't know what it was about. I'll go and look some more, in the meantime could you see if you remember anything about a similar issue?

As well as this game is not optimized, there is a possiblity of this happening when hitting 32 bit's 4gb ceiling including graphics. The game because of being 32bit based never "sees" your other 4gb.

If you're playing singltplayer campaign, shut down everything not game related, then try it. Some use a free copy of Game Booster for this.

Hm, I will try. And they are getting better with the optimization! Shogun 2 runs a lot better than empire tw (for me at least) Hope Rome 2 will run even better. And be less buggy.
