I don't like the Barbarian concept artwork/ screaming women at all. It looks like the generic concept art I've seen a thousand times before. It is professionally executed but it gives the wrong fibe for this great and hopefully serious historical game.
I hope this don't make it into the game:

I suspect those will be campaign map agents. For example, I would imagine that those women would be some sort of priestess that increases morale for friendly troops/sabotages morale for unfriendly. In any case, they do seem to put off some sort of Medieval Fantasy vibe. I really hope that CA is indeed deciding to go for a historical, rather than "legenday" motif unlike Shogun 2 with its heroes and such.
One of the things I fear the individual concept skins for the other female warriors, which might indicating screeching women or something else.

What...what the heck are the archers on the elephant?
Macedonian Sunburst so presumably macedonia or Seleucids
Eastern landscape so presumably seleucids (maybe Parthia for feces and giggles)
But what looks like robes over possible armor, but then you got sohei monk style wraps with a red dot..
I'm guessing Parthian elephants. Then again maybe the map really does go to India. While the costuming is kinda weird to me, I do like the look of the stuff. Don't mean to sound whiny. Never seen much like it in this period before. I suppose it could just be a take on the usual Iranian tiara. Only bit I would nerd rage on is what looks like the adjustable nasal piece for the elephant mahout - I know those were not in use in this period. But it's probably just a minor detail or me mistaking it.
Also I hope the three females with the spears means there's female generals for the barbarians.

Oops double post
Keeps the sand and bugs out of their mouths. Plus it looks pretty good.
I suspect the 3 women are different variations of the same agent. If you've played Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai, you would see all agents undergo a visual transformation as they level up. A low-level ninja agent has his face exposed in his character portrait. A mid-level ninja agent wears a face mask that has only his eyes exposed. A end-level ninja agent wears a demon mask. On the campaign map, these agents are also visually different.
OMG....
Looks epic.
Someone said the women were agents of different level.... maybe just maybe the swordsmen are agents that 'duel' (like empire) with enemy 'champions'?? Maybe

Seleucid Elephants with Indian riders, tada.
It looks great, everything looks fine, I hope there are screaching women and warrior women just to piss off the history fanboys and I know they arent warrior units because a person with a brain should have the common sense to realize that you dont go to war with a long skirt.
Dislike artworks - only two aren't barbarians.
I like a new unit 'Japanese monks on Indian elephants with Macedonian shields' - sarcasm.
I really don't like wardogs with modern neck guards. I don't like screaming women too.
Do you remember that in summer CA show cancelled flaming pigs and wardogs? After San Francisco we know that wardogs, flaming pigs and screaming women will return.
I don't think those are screaming women and that they will be in game. If someone knows better, tell me.
Those are screaming women.

The picture of the female warriors with spears were already shown in a german magazine and were described as the agent type champion of the barbarians (Inspired by Boudicca obviously). The male variants are from the same agent. 3 different appearances for different levels, like in FOTS. The wizard guys are the celtic druid agents and the witches were described as germanic agents.
