If you scroll from the barbarians up, does it remind you of different armour upgrade levels of the same unit? Similar to MTW2?? Same for the three women but less noticable?

"Rem tene; verba sequentur." - Grasp the subject, the words will follow.
i do not like, it's all invented in the purest style of the series spartacus.
not seem german warriors or any other ethnicity of this historical epoch, seem barbarians taken from the hyborian age of conan, horrible.
i hope this is just an artistic representation that just saw spartacus series.
this is not historical.
this is historical.

Yeah those artworks are a good quality made but suffers from heavy Heroic-Medieval-Fantasy troubles indeed. This whole gladiator shoulder straps and the Sam Browne's belts don't have to appear in such a game I must say. The artist could have done simple and yet still more accurate than it but well I known what it is about: when you paint a character you try to show what you can do, it must be even more difficult for we lack of historical knowledge about druid's stuff.
Still those pieces of equipment sound as weird as a turban on a legionary's head. It simply doesn't match the game.
I don't like neither this fashion since the movie Centurion to represent all the Britons as 5th C. Pictish dudes or even their looks: who said Britons should have black hair/overrly white skin with blue tattoos ? This is Metal fanboy stuff, but not Briton's. Tattoos were a small group practice (forgotten even by Gauls and South Britons when Ceasar landed in England.
What's the harm in tattoos? They add personality and individuality to the Britons. The Arverni, I am sure, weren't all red headed. If you have each of the barbarian factions the same the campaign would get stale up there. You're right about the shoulder straps and belt though. And isn't chainmail a medieval style of armour? This should be the Iron age shouldn't it? I doubt it'll be like this in the game however.
these romans are not forming a testudo formation,Why raise the shields at a time and in the same way as if they were robots or clones?
i guess not many animations implemented to give much more variety and realism.

'When people stop believing in God, they dont believe in nothing they believe in anything. '
-Emile Cammaerts' book The Laughing Prophets (1937)
Under the patronage of Nihil. So there.
ITS PRE ALPHA FOR HEAVENS SAKE!!
This amount of crying and whining is ridiculous.... CA has to make trade offs. They need enough sales and wont get them only by making all those hardcore online historians happy!
Besides were did the ever say to make a +95% historical accurate game anyways ????
They do look a bit like clones, but, its only in pre-alpha so yeah... I'm not moaning, because CA know what they are doing, but I'd prefer to see a higher ratio of chainmail among legionaries, I think there's too much segmentata from what I've seen so far, but all these things will be rectified in time. And also, I don't think there's anything wrong with having their shields raised at this point. I'm not sure about you, but if I saw volley of arrows coming down over my head I'd raise my shield pretty quick, its common sense.
It can't be a testudo as its too lose. In order to maintain the strength of the formation, the soldiers need to come close together, much like in a rugby scrum. Our re-enactment group found that if we bound together by holding each others' baldrics and kept our shields interlocked the formation would be extremely strong against any missile coming its way.
This isn't one unit of three levels.
These are three types of units for the three factions (Gauls, Britons and Germans).
I'm sure that the factions.
Gauls (Arverni) - they have the red hair (swordsmen, women, witches), their clothes are richer.
Britons (Iceni) - they have brown/black hair (swordsmen, women, druids, witches), they all have blue tattoos.
Germans (Suebi) - they have blond hair (swordsmen, women, witches), the most poor clothes.
Gauls and Britons have plaid pants.

III. Druids (ARVERNI, ICENI) and witches (ICENI, ARVERNI, SUEBI)
They are historical mistakes, but I hope that this is just artwork and will be changed in the game...
What?! They put Gandalf in the game too?! WOO!![]()
Hey look it's Will dressed as a swordsman and a screeching woman.
all hail the flying spaghetti monster!
These models are going in the game??
Oh my.
