Im just speculating but i would have thought it would. Wouldn't make sense for CA not to include dual-core support. And i really hope they do as my new coms gonna have a dual core.

Why would it make sense for it do be supporting dual cores? Programming for dual cores is a pain in the ass. To be precise, I don't think there is a single game out or in develope that will support dual core, it is THAT much of a pain in the ass. And most computers in the world are still single core.Im just speculating but i would have thought it would. Wouldn't make sense for CA not to include dual-core support. And i really hope they do as my new coms gonna have a dual core.

But your right programming for multi core processors is a right pain (The Sega Saturn used Dual core chips and this was launched back in 1994 and we still can't fully use multi core processors!)
To be honest with you, I can't even find the game on gamespot. So may I please have a link?
P.S. able to run on a computer with 2 cores is not supporting duo core - it is running a whole lot faster on a computer with 2 cores, as in actually benfiting from them.
I'm sorry for my lack of knowledge, but what do you mean with dual-core?
a computer that is capable of doing 2 threads at once.
C'mon just ggl it ! http://www.kingkonggame.com/uk/ (it was a pretty nice game, best mobie based game I ever played)
Well, that was stupid of me. Gamespot did not show a PC version. However, from the forums, it seems as if there are no dual-core option - the games lag like hell.
gamespot has it. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/ki...?q=king%20kongOriginally Posted by Lee1026

I doubt that MTW2 will be have dual core support. I am sure that it will run fine on them however, but I really cant see CA making extra support for dual cores to make MTW2 benefit from dual cores. After all, Valves survey voer steam on gamers systems had some surprising results, that most gamers still have less than a gig or RAM for example, and this is FPS gamers, strategy gamers often have even less powerful systems. But then again, CA is aiming for the mass market, not the strategy hardcore, so it might well have extra support for dual cores to deal with all the new sparkly effects and such.

I thought RTW got support for dual core but it only increased performance by 5%, dont know what i got that from though. But i remember some talk about it some while ago (RTW demo Era). If its true MTw2 will have it because of the same engine. Its not that the game wont run on dual core but it may or not utilise the power of it.
Actually, I dont think that dual cores were even out when RTW was released.Originally Posted by Peter

Oh they were. At least, dual cpus have been around for a long time. (I got a 2 CPU PII)
I'm not wrong, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory also supports it, if i'm right.
Kind of off-topic though. :spammer:

I just hope that M2TW will be like Oblivion where you can tweak a few settings in the ini file to enable dual core options.
I doubt MTW2 is optimized for Dual core.
Dual core helps multi-tasking your apps a lot more than speeding up your games. You're probably going to have to wait a year before games will be programmed to use a dual core to its fullest, like DirectX 10. The processor on your graphics card is what you should be worrying about for games, not Dual core.
Around the time Windows Vista is coming out (January) I'm going to get the cheaper Core 2 Duo 6400 chip and overclock it so I can use the money I saved from that purchase to get a decent DirectX10 card. The graphics card should be the most expensive thing you buy, unless you're an LCD lover, because that is what's going to make your games go fast. Of course there's the AI, physics, etc. that will be handled by the mainboard chip, but if you overclock the 6400 to 3.0Ghz you won't have any problems until 3-4 years later when it's time to upgrade again. These Core 2 Duo chips overclock very nicely. The hard part for novices is knowing what hardware to buy when they build a system.![]()

Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line!
Even without full dual core support a game will be enhanced.
Just tell your comp to run it on the second core and everything else (ie.. all background programs) on the first core.
you will get a decent boost in fps.
(that post above was me, comp at work had me logged in as that and i didnt notice till i posted)
