    Default Gruesome Battlefield

One thing I always enjoyed was scanning over the battlefield after a well earned victory, or a very close defeat, call me sick but I think the amount of bodies everywhere could use more detail. It would be realistic to see men injured on the ground struggling to get up/clinging to life, not just simply falling over dead. The aftermath of a medieval battlefield was full of agony, alot of men were still alive long after the battle was over. If this is possible to do, it would be excellent to see a more dynamic aftermath.

And yes, surrending should be an option when one of your units is ******ed. I think they could add an animation where their weapons are thrown to the ground (or dissapear) and they throw their hands up and walk off the battlefield to the enemy's direction. If you wanted to execute them, your men would simply walk up to them and strike them.

Sounds like an MA rating... and because CA will want to have as many sales as possible, your ideas (though pretty interesting) will probably be precluded from the game.

You want to see the ground drenched in blood, dead corpses, and wounded men? What about heads and body parts choped off and screams of dying men? I think it's detailed enough already and to have blood and guts everywhere would be just gross. It would be rated M or even A (adult). CA wants to increase sales not decrease them.

Also, I believe the game is enhanced because of it's lack in that category. To me it's obvious they concentrated more on the strategic aspect of war rather than the blood and guts part of war...

I don't understand this. Everyone is moving anyway. Instead of giving them a standing/walking/fighting motion, they're on the ground crawling. It shouldn't impact the FPS at all.

I'm pretty sure that you need blood for a gruemsome battlefield...

Not only blood, but decapitations and on top of that, you can have men searching and killing those who are writhing in pain on the ground, but that would take it waaay to far and change the rating to MA.

Well, MTW2 will have blood on corpses. So it should be fine.

I don't think so, I thought the blood accumulated over time. Maybe if they've been through many battles but raw recruits wont have any blood. I think their aiming for rated T.

Accumulated over time in one battle. It will all disappear again at the start of a new battle.

It's an idea that will surely be in the future of gaming, so I'm afraid we'll just have to wait. But hey, suppose we gotta be grateful there is blood in Meddy 2, AND I imagine it can be pumped up a bit via mods.

I think it should be an option.

If the sight of gore makes you nauseous, that's fine. Turn it off. But I also think that the enormous human cost of these battles is minimized when it's just a pile of multi-colored bodies lying down as if asleep. Braveheart had some gruesome scenes (I vividly remember William Wallace striking a English soldier's head with his claymore and a gout of blood bursting from under the helm), but to me it conveyed the reality of warfare.

I just think it's silly and a little childish to want realism, realism, realism (as many here say they want), then blanch when a critical aspect of realism is what cold steel does to human bodies.

No, blood will appear on models as a battle goes on. Not as a campaign goes on.

I thought I saw some screen shots of 'mists' of blood in a screen shot taken at a show by Burebista.

But even without added gore and body parts, crawling wounded and stray horses, will certainly add to the immersion, when technology allows.

You know what would be cool? a Medieval game that doesn't care about grossing you out or care about your pussy little feelings. That would be a great game. Sick of all these children ruling the world I live it; as soon as they grow up, there are more little idiots taking their place.

    Keep it real yo...peace.
