    Default EA in Total War?

Fewer nations Playable, smaller map/fewer provinces(not sure yet),full price for half the game, possibly(confirmed now) day 1 DLC,things that should have been in the game from the start are going to be sold in bits as DLC later on(or at day 1,confirmed)

I hope at least that in the next total war they won't do this

EDIT:I guess was right, day 1 dlc, something that is completed and ready and should have already been in the game will be sold as dlc, full price half game

I have been playing total war ever since Rome. I can tell you that although empire and shogun were not my kind of era I would have preferred I would have to say CA has come a long way and EA?!
    REALLY? EA?????!!!!!

you are comparing CA to EA?!

go play sim city and then come back here and tell me about the EA experience.

    I'm with him

What are you talking about anyways OP? Shogun 2? Rome 2? And what is the purpose of this thread? Just to randomly come in and bash CA? What good would that do?

OK, well you should prolly read a little bit about Rome 2 before you make such a ridiculous comparison then...

Fewer nations? They have said there will be around 50 nations
Smaller map? I don't even know where you are getting this. They have said it will be larger than Rome 1
Full price for half the game? Sounds like a whole game to me
DLC? They haven't confirmed this yet. And if so...so what? A lot of games have DLC now, deal with it
"have shown that their target of costumers are ones that haven't played total war games and never supported them"? I don't even know what this is supposed to mean

Stupid! So stupid! When people are to compare EA to the TW franchise they should think at SEGA, not CA! CA is not the publisher, they can't do much about how their game reaches the public!
If there is a comparison of marketing strategies and similarities that begin to appear between that of 2 companies, one of each being related to the TW franchise, than it is a comparison of how EA and SEGA handle selling their products!
Any complaints for CA should be regarding the wrong era helmets and boots and those sort of stuff!

To OP: Thread title should be how SEGA adopts EA marketing strategies and how that reflects in the TW franchise!

when your post contains nothing but misinformation there is no reason for me to take you seriously.

If CA/SEGA go always online with tons of DLC then you're onto something.

My fingers are crossed this won't happen.

While many of us understand that you don't like DLC, Huberto I think I'll go out on a limb and say that you can at least see that CA/SEGA are better with DLC than EA. On that note I'd like people to stop bashing CA and start bashing SEGA if you must. SEGA most likely supplies CA with the budget(s) they need for game development. This means that SEGA can allocate specific parts of the budget to specific tasks. Such as a part of it for the main game and another for DLC like Jack confirmed.

@OP: I get you're point but I respectfully disagree. SEGA/CA is better with DLC than EA. SEGA/CA actually used to be worse with DLC.

I suggest you take a look at Rome 2, the new game that CA is developing. It should allay your fears.

There were 11 playable factions in Rome 1 (if you don't count the modding), these factions were shallow and unhistorical. In rome 2 there will be 8 factions (and a rumoured 9th faction) ,that will according to CA, have a lot of depth to them with the new political system and the fact that CA actually does research on the factions now (remember the "spain" faction?). And there will most likely be even more factions with DLC, which is fine by me because it fleshes out the game even more.

Yap, in Rome 1 there were 11 factions(who cares, didn't count them!), in Rome II will be only 8, in Rome III will be only 4 and in last Rome IV(before starting of War World III) will be only one, Rome himself!....and after 1000 years of stone age when mankind will come again and reinvent computers, first game will be a strategy, a Total War and wont have any free faction, all will be DLCs, and the company name will be, Assembly Creative, Yap!!!

Assembly Creative sealed the deal for me. Maybe it's too early in the morning for me to understand what is actually funny, but I laughed at that.

11 of which 3 were basically just the same roman infantries with exclusion of a few units, their difference is the factions they fight against. With other words: 9 actual factions.

R2TW does not only get the same amount (currently eight with a high possibility of it being 9), but they're also a lot different in game play. Like, a lot. Not to mention the immersion of the capital cities and so on and so on.

    Way to go with criticism.

Eh, I prefer if they just let me play the unplayable faction, I really don't give a **** how generic they are.
