What monuments do you want to see as wonders in M2TW? I think Stonehenge in Britian should be in there. Simply so there is something of value in the north this time around!

I thought there might have been a thread on this earlier, but in any case mostly the religious wonders for me. St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, and everything in Mecca. Maybe also Stonehenge.
I don't think they will include mecca cause when we see the campaign mini-map we will see that the arabian pensuila is owned by rebelsOriginally Posted by AMERICARULES

But it will be cool if they include it :tooth:
I was under the impression that stonehedge is not considered to be important at the time.

Most of the Kremlin aint medieval, and I don't think Stonehenge was important either. Again most wonders (if they are in at all) should be in the south as most of the impressive old buildings in northern Europe arrived within the games time frame, not before, by 1080 the buildings of northern Europe where mainly made of wood, churches only exception from general rule. So, wonders? think Jerusalem should be the main wonder, also the papal seat in Rome/Avignon, and famous pilgrimage sites (such as Santiago and Nidaros) and artifacts (true cross, lance of Jesus), wonders could be scripted in, perhaps a few churches and mosqes (such as Hagia Sofia, Dome of the Rock) as well.

If you are refering to the seven wonders of the world, I only want to see the one that still existed as late as the medieval period. But I have little knowledge about other wonders... So im not sure really.

Pisa is either out of period or unimportant.
The Kremlin didn't exist until maybe very very late in the period of MTW2.
places of pilgrimage are the only ones I can think of...

I get the feeling that wonders won't be nearly as important or prominent in Medieval 2 as they were in Rome.
I am almost certain they said we will not see wonders in mtw2. Would have been nice. Donīt have to call them wonders, could just call them "important monuments/buildings" or something. There were definately structures at the time which had a great impact on the region.
Agree both with Swe_Gamer and AMERICARULES. Don't think either that will be almost any wonders at all.

St Peter's Basilica is a post-medieval building - the medieval church of the Popes was St John's Lateran.
The Tower of Pisa is medieval, though in the medieval period it had not yet begun to lean.
The greatest buildings of the period included:
The Grand Mosque of Cordoba
The Hagia Sophia (minus its later Ottoman minarets)
Sainte Chapelle in Paris
Chartres Cathedral
The Great Donjon at the Louvre
Krak de Chevaliers
The Great Abbey of Cluny
Ely Cathedral
Chateau Gaillard
and
Westminster Abbey.

If there are no bonuses from wonders in this game, maybe itll work through the guildhalls that they mentioned earlier. I believe they said that you could build guild halls and once you have enough could be invited to build a 'Master Guildhall' that would offer specific bonuses to your faction and could only be built once in one settlement the entire game, sounds a bit like a wonder to me, so maybe there will be similar options for castles and cathedrals. If you make the Pope happy enough he may commision you to build an enourmous basilica in one of your settlements?
