I have been working on my largest mod to date for the past three days, and unfortunately I have run into a major problem. Whenever I edit a projectile's damage and distance value, Napoleon upon startup closes after its initial load and the executable fails to move toward the SEGA video. I have been using PFM 1.5.7 for this specific table, and as such the projectile table is under its own mod pack file. Yes the pack is also categorized as a mod and not a release or patch. I have no other mods installed as I have been trying my best to troubleshoot this particular error before I move to incorporate it with the bigger mod. One step at a time, right?
Thus far I have successfully changed the economic benefits of buildings, unit sizes, unlocked several ships for other major factions (86 SOL, 98 SOL, 106 SOL, 122 SOL, and 140 SOL), changed the values of hulls, slowed movement of ships, changed naval cannons range to bring ships closer into battle, improved trade values and the microeconomics of their bulk values, addressed diplomacy into a much more reasonable manner, and also significantly reduced recruitment and upkeep costs of land units-excluding artillery (which has been increased for both)-in order to have truly massive battles.
Things I have been trying to work on, but have yet to have any success (since I am still new to modding) are unlocking the 18-lber cannon for Russia, France, and Austria, significantly increasing single-player battlemap sizes to improve strategic movement considering the large increase in unit sizes and accompanying armies, increasing land movement values, increasing the AI's ability to build ships of the lines and not auxiliary vessels nor frigates, reducing the effect of a musket at a greater distance, and increasing allies' assistance on the campaign map.
All of this being said, I need the most help with the 18-lber gun (not the Ottoman 18-lber as it looks silly for European powers) as I have yet to find a guide dealing specifically with custom artillery units in an understandable manner and a battery's effective range on the battlefield as well as its damage and radius. I would be more than happy to upload my projectiles table if you are willing to assist me.
Thank you for reading my tumultuous post.
