Default Why is it so hard to form alliances?

It seems that it's much harder to make friends in this mod than in vanilla. I can only secure an alliance if a faction is located far away from me, or if they're really small, or if I throw in a bunch of other offers. Is there a reason for this?

Well my experience so far as the lizalfo the kokiri, ordana, hyrule, and deku will not give me an alliance at all only just trade rights if that, only to attack me several turns later or when I'm fighting one or the other. Only alliance I was offered was when the Gorons offered me one which is weird had very poor relations plus they are far so useless. Basically it's more of a convenience for them than you plus some factions can't make diplomats so your at their mercy for peace/wars.

As Lanayru I pretty much allied with the entire map except KOH and Zora (since i needed to kill them to win)

This has not been an issue for me at all really. As far as I've noticed your reputation (once it reliable+) can help quite a bit and don't try for an alliance with say KoH being the Kokiri on like turn 4 or 5, isn't going to work. The size of your faction plays a huge role usually (reason why KoH is hard to ally with early game). Also I suggest fixing the vanilla occupy settlement bug, it is a very big help with reputation (example: you can go from mixed to reliable from only occupying 6 settlements). On a side note, this method also helps you abuse the current bug of factions not dissappearing. If you say have one ally and you've taken out factions, your reputation is going to be down there because your forever at war with the factions you took out. So you can use aliances to fix this (do note I'm sure Neph will probably be fixing this faction dissapearing with the next update). This will help if you are interested in the reputation bug and how to fix it: http://t-a-w.blogspot.com/2009/11/wh...edieval-2.html

I do know that this bug isn't fixed in the mod files either, so until you fix it, you're playing with the bug.

I have never had problems allying with any of the different races with the exception of KoH, darknut, and Queen Ambi (only her it works on everything else just not her)
