    Default Installation of kingdoms

Guys i know this might be a really foolish question but I do not know how to install kingdoms. Every time I try to install it the kingdoms installation never loads, but 2 windows pop up, one so I can install Medieval and Medieval instals just fine.

Medieval 2 has to be installed first before Kingdoms can be installed. Is M2 installed on that machine? What copy of the game do you have? Original release or the Gold copy? Discs or digital download? If digital what service did you buy it from?

Lastly, what is showing up in those two windows you mentioned? Good luck!

It's gold copy disk. And the screen that is showing is the regular install screen which loads, and a Medieval 2 Total War gold install screen which doesn't load,

One the discs, in the seperate folders are files called setup.exe.

Run these in order instead of trying to use the autorun.

Well when I try to use set up for kingdoms it just opens up text edit. So I'm not sure what I should do. I installed it before but uninstalled it so there's nothing wrong but human error but when I tried to install it the first time it just installed medieval and prompted me for the 2nd disk but when I inserted it I did not have a valid destination for the files.

Right-click the file and pick something else to open it with.

Be sure you're logged in as Administrator.

You have a program that did it to you that you installed.

Try it with everything on the list including Internet Explorer.

command.com may work. It should be in your Windows folder someplace.

Have you ever had another copy of Medieval2 installed on this computer? It could be part of the problem if so.

Then, you will have to uninstall it, delete all traces, run a good free registry cleaner to do what CA's uninstallers never do, reboot, and then hopefully it will work.

Gold Edition, I don't know if there is one.

The original discs of both, you just grab the Kingdoms box and insert the first disc.

Ok now it prompted me for the second disk but my computer won't let me open the drive because it is saying files on the disk are in use

What Windows version are you using?

Are you logged in as Administrator?

How much ram and how much free disc space do you have?

I found what I had to do, for some reason I have to go into every little expansion, like Americas and then download it from there. Thanks for your help!

A pain but you're not the first and I doubt the last. Good luck.
