Which mod? NTW3.0 or Darthmod?

Hey all

I'm looking for a mod that'll give the most realistic experience of battle in the 1800 era.

Darthmod & NTW 3 seem to be the top ranked here, its probably a matter of opinion but which do you think is best for what I'm looking for?

p.s. Would also prefer a smarter AI that isn't as easy to beat!

Define what you mean by "realistic". This is actually quite subjective since the game cannot be 100% reallistic given the scale and scope of the game.

Major problem with realism in game is caused mostly by code limitations game was released with. Lots of things implemented in NTW increase EYECANDY of battle, while completely unrealistic, like for example cavalry charges that throw men into air, artillery hits hits that drop lots of men down, or ships inclining after receiving broadside (weight of hull is much greater than weight of shots, so in reality ship would not incline because of getting hit..) But there are more such things implemented, and no modder can do anything about them because they are hardcoded.

Napoleon Total War 3 is the realism mod. Darth Mod is like the base game but on massive scale and more cinema feel.
