    Default A CTD error.

    Hi all,

I am very new to the Medieval community, I have encountered an error which does not identify itself. (If that makes sense). I besieged the Welsh castle (sorry forgot the name) with a full army. I started on the deployment stage and began setting up my units, then literally 15 seconds into the deployment phase, I get the CTD but the machine gives me no reason for it whatsoever. I literally just go back to desktop with no notice, so I started it up again thinking it was nothing, then the same thing happened. Can anyone identify the cause of this issue?

NOTE: Upon installation, I came across an error from which I can't fully remember what it was called, but it was something like:

'Voice.dat1' but I don't know what is wrong with this file. I'm not sure if this is common, but could anyone lend a hand?

    Much appreciated

I only just installed it. But I will say this, I was on it just now and I just autoresovled that battle and carried on, I played a couple more battles and they turned out fine. I then played one more battle and the same CTD crash came. One thing both of the crashed battles had in common is that they both contained catapults in my army. I don't know if this is of any significance, but it feels it.

But to answer your question, no not particularly, it hasn't happened before.

Have you updated to the 1.3/1.03 patch?

I never recall updating any patch, could you provide a link as to where I could download this patch if this is what it takes to fix the problem?

    http://www.strategyinformer.com/pc/p...war/patch.html for the 1.2 and 1.3 patches.

Do not install the 1.1 patch. It was borked on its release.

These may or may not fix it but I hope so. Also, they are not savegame compatible. You will have to start a new one.

Can you tell me where to send these patches exactly using WinRAR?

You need to extract the contents of the .rar file to your Desktop. Once there just double click the file (it should be an .exe) and the installer will install the patch to your game. It's a pretty simple process. Do you know how to extract the file? In WinRAR just right-click the .rar file and choose the Extract option and choose to the Desktop. You can later move the patch to whatever folder you choose. Good luck!
