Campaign related issues - Contradicting traits & contradicting missions
I've encountered some campaign related issues while playing SS6.4 with BGR-V (originally posted them at Byg's thread, apparently the issue lies with SS so here I am).
Original post: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...1#post12676948
1. Traits that contradict each other.
Examples:
(King Henry, Faction leader of England)
Lacks justice - Doesn't really see the merit of justice, it is simply in the way of expedient rule.
Harsh justice - Believes that if punishment is not being administered on a regular basis, then crime will spread unchecked!
Severe - This man's basic manner and lifestyle lean towards being severe and unforgiving.
Dubious - Capable of bringing himself to commit rather shameful acts.
I don't think the last two are, strictly speaking, contradicting yet I find it hard to believe that someone who is severe can be dubious at the same time. The effects seem to confirm my intuitive feeling as they are opposites: an increase/decrease in cost to bribe and tax income. (Note: although contradicting traits nearly always have opposite effects, I do not mean that all traits with opposite effects are contradicting)
2. The pope lost his wits.
- The pope gave me a mission to blockade the port of Navarre then cancelled it a turn later as he decided to "reconcile" the faction owning the port, that is, the rebels. This happened twice now.
- One turn after Scotland declared war upon me the pope gave me a similar mission: blockade the port of Edinburgh. So I thought the pope was displeased with Scotland waging war against me but when I look at their papal status it states "The pope feels no ill will against Scotland", their papal status is even better than mine?
- After the pope decided I shouldn't perform any hostile actions against Scotland again for x turns (I previously ambushed one of their armies on my own territory and blockaded their port), the pope gave me another mission: to blockade Edinburgh's port again, which results in excommunication.
Hope this helps to iron out some of the flaws in future development
Thank you for an awesome mod.
