My Nvidia drivers are up-to-date (314.07 WHQL). Tried verifying integrity of game cache in Steam but it is still
crashing. Also, the sound goes off during the deployment phase of every battle before I start. Once
deployed, the sound goes back on!

I would appreciate any help. The game is awesome but those crashes and sound issues are preventing me
    from enjoying it

This error message can mean many things. Post your dxdiag.

What is the brand and model of your computer if prebuilt or motherboard if custom built?

I built my own PC with an Asus Sabertooth z77 motherboard. How is this relevant?

www.realtek.com.tw for the latest High Definition Audio codecs since I don't see them listed.

Since you say sound, Try it with the RealTek drivers and disable the Xonar ones. You may have to pull the card as others had to with Soun Blaster cards.

It acts like a driver incompatibility.

Thanks. I'll try that and keep you updated. Can't believe I have to switch back to onboard audio!

I followed your instructions but the game is still crashing. Any further suggestions?

    Eliminates that one.

Run Windows Update and install software options? The error code you have CA and Sega will blame it on Windows.

All Windows updates are already installed, with the exception of Bing Desktop and Nvidia HD Audio Drivers. Do I need those too? And are you really sure the crashes are caused by a sound issue? Been getting some weird flashing white circles on the screen during naval combat.

    No.

Short of your Windows install being bad, yes.

    Try lowering your graphics settings?
