Installing game and steam

I got retail copy of ntw (imperial edition). When I try to install it from disc steam takes over and start downloading with my conection it takes 24h to do it. How to instal it from disc bypassing steam?

The thing is you need the patches for the game. Steam won't let you start until it's patched.

Im not talking 'bout starting game but 'bout installing it. Steam prevents to install it from dvd. Patches are applied after installation.
