Default Can't start a campaign with MOS

    Hello,

When I start a new campaign the game goes back to the single player menu. I have the latest version of MOS installed. I am also using the Steam version and am on Windows 7

I have read other threads about this issue, so far I have

    -Deleted the two desc_geography files
    -Turned off UAC
    -Changed the security permissions
-Checked the VirtualStore folder (I don't see the Medieval 2 Total War files there, I have changed the settings to show protected operating system files and to show hidden files. It still isn't there)
    -Reinstalled the entire mod

Despite all this, it still goes back to the Single Player menu upon starting a new campaign. Are there any other solutions to this issue?

    Thanks

You should post about this in MOS Thread... Anyway, have you run Cleaner.bat file after installing MOS?
There is an installation instructions on the first page of MOS thread. You should check them out.

I ran cleaner.bat but still have the same result. I also checked the thread and I don't see any problems with the installation. The Third Age mod runs fine without submods.

    1. What MOS Installation version are you using, MOS Full Installer, or the one with more parts?
    2. What steam installation method are you using for installing TATW and submods?

I used the MOS full installer

I installed third age in the folder that word ordinarily contain the Americas campaign (medieval 2 total war/mods/americas)

Well, then just point MOS Installer to that americas folder, overwrite files when asked, and run Cleaner.bat file after installation is done.

Delete those two descr_geography_new files in mods/folder where you installed MOS/ data, start a battle, end it, exit MOS, go to folder where you installed MOS/ data/ world/ maps/ base folder and delete map.rwm file found there. Check does campaign work..

I'm afraid I'm still having the same issue, although custom battles seem to be working fine.

You can run Cleaner.bat file again to test does it solve this problem, if not, then there is stil some issue with your installation..

If you changed security permissions for your steam\....\medieval 2 total war folder as you said, then you could reinstall again.. delete the folder where your TATW+MOS is installed, install TATW, check does TATW work, install MOS to that folder where TATW is installed, overwrite files when asked, and run Cleaner.bat file after installation is done. I even don`t have steam, but have seen people who do have it made this to work. You can make it work too

I completely reinstalled third age and MOS, and it is working now. I am not sure what the problem was, but that doesn't matter anymore

    Thank you for your assistance
