I am wondering if I should stay with the nanoxia deep silence, or go over the the already renowned fractal design define r4. The main difference as I see it is that the Nanoxia is less known and has three fans compared to the R4`s two. Any suggestions?

Number of fans included are really not the main issue why I would pick a case but quality of case and fans delivered which of course includes less vibrations (not to thin steel or annoying plsstic) and being quietly (silence the noise inside) with good passive (aluminium) or active cooling abilities (number and most of all size of fans that can be used).
Additionally a tool free design around and good architecture inside offering space without enlarging the case.
Good fans are not that expensive (bitfenix 240 mm, arctic F PWM series, some coolermaster models)

NASA computer: yes I really wonder if the testers or developers use Intel x79 with quad channel ram abd xenon server cpus I would be really pissed of to see a quad core delivers just 40 fps in the battle engine at 4.5 GHz.
I fear 6 month aren't enough to rebuild warscape but a said elsewhere they would need a break of release for 2 years as optimising don't help anymore to eliminate skating units etc. But we're going off topic

The suggested enthusiast rigs will make you happy for at least 3-4 years across all year especially as the cpu development is now at a top.
A sandy bridge that is already 2 years old is just 11% behind a current cpu.

Hi there, I'll probably be back in just a day or two with more specific questions but for now I have some basic ones. How would you expect the "Very good" and "Great" recommendations hold up to future games (with no to minimal upgrades)? I assume they should handle just fine for at least a few years? Does anyone know how they would run some current games like Civilization 5: BnW, Diablo 3, World of Tanks, and War Thunder. I assume that again, the answer is fine but I just want to be sure. Are there any slight changes to the build that might be beneficial to that list of games such as different processor with more or less cores? From the games listed I'm most curious about World of Tanks, as it is rather horribly optimized... (and it has zero multi core support).

Here's the system I got but it's not working properly got infected with virus and it just crashes on all games then starts shutting down and locks up screen is blank and I have to turn it off at the plug. It's like 18 times this has happened the virus was malware virus tried all sorts to fix it and I kind of want a new one anyway.

That system should still be able to run Rome II and Shogun 2, unless you really want to buy another one, you should just backup your data on an external harddrive and then do a clean install of the OS, formatting the PC HDD.

    CPU Count= 8 Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 4.20GHz
Total Memory = 16.0 Gb Patriot Sector 5
Boot Drive= SanDisk SDSSDX120GG25 ATA Device 120 Gb
X2 WD Caviar Blue 500 Gb
Video = AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series crossfireX

    NZXT M59 Classic case
    Windows Performance Index= 7.8

    Your system is very good:
You should only upgrade your GPU, depending on your budget go for a NVIDIA 760 or 770. Your PSU is way to Overpowered, so it will not work efficiently and cause a higher power bill, however changing it will cost more than the raise of your bill.

then go for ultra settings, perhaps you can try to go for higher clocking. Update your mainboard bios.
Set the FSB to 100 MHz (check with CPU-Z) and then only raise your turbo clock to 45x and nothing else. use XMS profile for the memory.

Thats the most weird situation we had ever since this thread begun. Buying a new PC because there is a defective? What does HP support suggest? Well but if you insist on a new one, it is your money. Otherwise we only had needed a new PSU and GPU to make it a marvellous rig again.

I am building a rig now Pidgeon, please again state what monitor you have and if you need a new mouse and keyboard and windows license? You could use the key of the old HP if you do not sell it.

task: new rig, budget 700-800 GBP max
, region UK, no self built, requested by Samuel Pidgeon

    https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/

797 GBP incl. shipping this will be the best for the buck you can get mate! Dont get charged for an Alienware brand but pure performance, hopefully someone can second that the alienware is not worth to buy.
    Check the PDF file.

Questions? I am watching Formula One now see you later

Alright then as I said you are allowed to reuse the Windows code on the hp machine if you delete it on the old one.
Is my suggested rig ok for your budget now post #1567? Or are you unsure about it? Your monitor is well enough no need to change.

People always forget punctuation, and that'll make it 100 times harder for someone to understand if English isn't their first language.

But yes Samuel Pidgeon, pretty much every case will have 2 or more USB ports at the front, and an aux audio jack input.

@brig just uprade your gpu but i'd wait and see how it runs first (nothing to worry about I think). tbh i think you fine for the foreseable future.

i'll be upgrading gpu soonish but then am upgrading my screen res so will need the extra umpf.

@ totalheadache, I'd wait and see what AMD's new cards will be like. If they're good enough, I'm selling my 780 and buying whatever I can afford with that cash.

    Good joking splenyi
If I see the small advantage of a 770 to a 670 I doubt that would be reasonable but more experimental. Can't image you have any performance issues on a 780, do you and you can use FXAA I am not sure if AMD use it as well. Any information about that? If they're not this would be a bad deal. And additionally you know NVidia will strike back soon mate.
