    Thx Epic28

on extreme i run 18,4fps and when i put it down to high i´ll already get 33,7.
It´s just, that even the campaign map is stuttering, on the battlefield everything seems to run smooth.... haven´t checked rain or snowfall yet

A 'framerate limiter' might solve that problem. At least it solved it for me in the last few TW games.
    I already made a thread about it a while ago http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...urner-is-great .

I am using a 560ti, what is the best upgrade that will fit on the same board?

Thanks Barbarian, i´ll give it a try
btw: can you recommend the saphire 7870?

The 7870 has a quite good price/performance ratio but before deciding for Nvidia/AMD I would maybe wait 1 or 2 weeks. In that time CA might do some 'optimizations' and maybe AMD/Nvidia will update their drivers. Then you could get a better picture of how good a 7870 would perform in Rome 2.

I was able to play Shogun 2 on Medium/High settings as of 6 months ago but this game gives me an average of 11.1 fps on the lowest settings? Is it time for a new PC or should I wait for better optimization?Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.130708-1532)Language: English Yes, I am. Campaign battles lag, the campaign map sometimes glitches, and after battles the map freezes. Pretty much my campaign is unplayable.

hello everyone! I think we could currently stop "why is it running that badly slow" THE GAME IS POOR in performance. Please stop posting. It is not your hardware or local issue, especially if your other games working great as ever
We can proceed your issues after some patching. CA promised to address patchs weekly at the moment.

here is an evidence of the general poor performance. I have been shown even a GTX Titan rolls on ridicilous 44 fps average.

    nice performance poll here

Hi this is my rig... I was wondering why I am getting lousy frame rates in big battles. I have 500G of free HD space too

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Thanks

I get crappy frame rates in large battles too, it's not your rig, it's the engine

Battles are again CPU limited (if u have a powerful GPU).

To increase minimum from 20 to 30FPS (with a 4770K@4.3Ghz) in all situations in a large battle I had to:
    - lower shadows to 'very high'
    - lower unit detail to 'very high'

Graphical impact is pretty limited. At least with all the graphics settings being adjustable during a battle it's much quicker to test them out.

My opinion is they dropped tessellation and models are processed by the cpu. Not having it this way would be the best performing tw ever with the current status of multicore support

Yes, unit models are processed by the CPU and lowering the unit detail will replace more units with sprites (because it seems to define the LevelOfDetail for unit models). This explains why lowering 'unit model' quality impacts CPU performance so much.

As far as I know, tessellation was only used in very few instances in Shogun 2 anyway. Mostly for the castle walls.
