Thank you for your warm words. All people that contribute in this thread did an outstanding job and if you read the "anti" posts on page 1 I never thought it would run that great. Splenyi managed to put up one of the most active and viewed threads in the Rome 2 forums and it is more successful as its counterpart on totalwar.com.

Great achievement! We helped so many here and only in a few days all will earn the results when Rome 2 is out.

Hi guys I switched my mainboard because of a UEFI firmware bug Asus ignored on the P8P67 and got a full refund from my retailer.

I now got an Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe WD mini-ITX Mainboard for just 34 € and this led me to choosing a new case. I am satisfied with it optically but the higher noise is not beareable for my spoilt ears
Of course the temperatures are much higher than in a classic ATX case and I nearly spent 2 hours to find the most optimized settings and build for temperatures and airflow and noise level.

Despite the cooling and noise the name Prodigy fits perfectly for this rig
I fixed my cooling and noise issues:

I found a perfect noise and cooling setup for my new rig. The solution was to plug the CPU cooler to the CASE FAN connector and the case fans to the CPU FAN connector:
The CPU cooler is now configured to Asus Q-FAN Turbo in the BIOS so running at nearly full speed which is still impressive silent,

While my fans are connected to the CPU fan connector that I can customize better running at 15% speed now.

Now I am rehabilitated as PC silencer again.

I've got a 760 but the drivers are so bad that all games crash..

    Hey guys,

Looking to get a new PC to run Rome2 on the highest specs possible.

Would this PC be able to do it?? http://www.novatech.co.uk/pc/range/n...lacknti58.html

I realise it would be better to have one built but I've left it too late.

Any other 'off the shelf' PC recommendations are great. My budget is Ł1200.

    Cheers!!!!!

    @OXIR
You probably have a different problem than the drivers. What's your other computer spec, especially the brand and model of your PSU? Also, which games crash and which way (e.g. exception dialog, blue screen, freeze, reboot, ...). Also, do you have a factory overclocked 760?

No answer to my previous question - is a i5-3570K compatible with my Gigabyte Z77-DS3H (socket LGA1155) and how would it affect my performance?

I need a new cheap laptop for grad school. My current one is literally falling apart after a year of use.

Would these specs let me run on lowish settings? The campaign map and naval battles are honestly more important to me.

    Intel Core i5 4200U(1.60GHz)
    Intel HD Graphics 4400
    4GB RAM

It's $450. So about as low as it goes.

I'm currently using a 24" Samsung monitor and was thinking about plugging my 50" sony tv into my gtx 580. Is this a bad idea? Will my fps drop a lot?

No they won't. No doubt your monitor and tv both have the same resolution (1080p), and that's all what matters, not the actual size of the screen

I'm putting this in FAQ, seems as it's asked a lot.

Do I have mentioned that in the myths already? Are they linked in the FAQ?

OH WOW! Those prices are ridiculous, I feel sorry for you guys if they're that expensive, get something as reliable as you can so you don't have to pay that kind of money for years!

I could either upgrade the CPU to a i5-3470 with an GA-Z68-UD3 MoBo or I could upgrade the GPU to a GTX760
that about fits in my budget
