Default To Rome or not to Rome?

Hey guys. I have a windows 7 system (64 bit).

With Rome 2 slated for release this year (supposedly) I was thinking about buying Rome to brush up on it's predecessor (which I have not played for several years, and apparently lost the disks to.)

Does anyone know if the steam copy of Rome (I would be buying the collection, with both expacs) works on a Windows 7 64 bit comp, or would my system be too new?

Should work fine so long as the hardware is compatible. I play on a Windows 7 64 bit system and it works fine.

oh yea, my hardware will run it. just wasn't sure if such an old game would run on a newer system.

Just watch out as I haven't had any problems with my version bought through Steam but some end up having problems or their hardware is too new and Rome doesn't use it right.

Works fine. I have both the retail (old 3 diskd Activision version) and also Steam copy which I bought during sale.

I would get the Total War Battle Pack from amazon if I was you. You can get it used for $10,00/$5,00 or new for $27,00 and you get Rome it's expansion BI along with Medieval II Gold Edition. Of course you can get Rome Gold Edition new for $10,00.The resin I suggest getting it from amazon rather then steam is because you don't need steam to play it and all the problems that come with steam, of course you then need to use the disc to lunch it but that's something we always had to dell with in the past.

    I already have Midevial 2 gold w/kingdoms.

Rome collection from steam, which I bought last night, has rome and both BI and Alexander expansions.

works fine, although not too sure how to play BI.

You have to go into steam and right click Rome in your library. You should get the option to launch BI.
